New Singapore Air website

Would your opinion be the same if they took the same attitude with their aircraft maintenance??

There is no excuse for releasing such a poorly tested update like they've gone and done.

The software development profession has managed to indoctrinate people to think it's ok.

Let's be honest here, a slow airline booking website is not going to cause hundreds to die...

I was surprised to see that my Westpac miles made it into my SQ KF account on the scheduled day (today).

Seems that the website is getting better functionality each day as more data is coming across.

Alby, not all of our flight bookings were there so I entered as a guest to get Mrscove's boarding pass for tomorrow. Some other bookings have not made it out of the Internet cloud.

just had a go at the new site, not that impressed with it, can't find any redemptions in J saver Syd to Sin anymore, only showing the two A380 flights, and I want to book a couple of tickets in the next 2 weeks so hopefully they get it working with all flights showing again. Unless they have scrapped the other two daily flights out of SYD and now there are only A380's? Bugger if thats the case, will be short on points now cos i'm redeeming Syd to CDG and I just squeeze in for two tickets with the online discount at 442,000 so I need those business saver flights back.

It could genuinely be unavailable due to school holidays. That said, you can always call them

its for non peak 2012 travel in April, so i'm looking well in advance, and they were there before the "upgrade", shall just have to keep an eye on it. Usually it tells you when there are only full redemptions available and shows the flights, from memory there are 4 daily, now only the 2 A380's show up, fingers crossed its just teething problems.

Good News
I note that in ringing Singapore Airlines this morning they have a recording on the phone admitting that there are some problems with their website and that they are working on them.

now there are no redemption flights at all - sigh just an error message, seems the site is still not working - pretty bad for Singapore Airlines, they had such a great reputation for customer service, can't believe its still not working properly. :(

I'm wanting to get a redemption sorted for October and co-ord with some other travelers from Melb & Syd. I've given up on it for a couple for weeks until they sort it.

There are a couple of interesting features which will be good when they get the site working.

A word of caution for anyone contemplating purchasing a flight online using an AMEX card.

Over on another forum someone has reported going through the booking process to the point where it requested credit card details and after entering the details got an error saying that booking couldn't complete.

Apparently the person did this a couple of times with the same result. At this stage an email from AMEX was received stating the user had max'd out his card and he had nothing to show for it! He's now battling both AMEX and SQ to try and get the charges credited back to his card.

A telephone booking might be a smart move at this present time:mad:

It is a world wide problem and not just an Australian site issue if that makes you feel a bit happier. Yesterday was still a fiasco in England I just got told.
The product is worth the perseverance!

I am still unable to add all the traveller information to my upcoming flight, and it doesnt seem to have matched up my KF membership number to the booking properly, and I an unable to save changes when I try to add the information. Online check in will be a fiasco I am sure.

Am a big fan of SQ so this is rather disappoitning, still looking forward to the flight, even though it is in Y!

Just an update on the website and booking.
Tried to book on the web a mixed class booking BNE to SFO. eg
BNE to SIN in J and F SIN to SFO for January next.
The KF site will not allow this. Rang SIN, waited 40 mins to speak and was
advised that if I booked by phone there would not be the 15% discount and that if I booked first leg and second not available there would be a charge to amend or refund and no amount of taking by me could change this !
Had to book each leg separately so two bookings and two tickets - fortunately both legs open for award flights.
SIN had lost our details and required entry of names, passports etc.
I was unable to select seats.
When completed and tickets received the conformations asked us to ring SIN to complete the bookings.
Rang Singapore again, waited over 30 mins and when I finally got through I was
asked for our passport details even though I had entered them on the booking.
Was able to get seats and confirm that the luggage allowance was 2 x 23 kg
bags not 30kg as shown on the tickets.
Sad that what was a 5 min exercise has turned into 2 hours.
However I live in hope - it can only get better !

Because I am going away to LAX this week on QF and coming home on SQ I went on the SQ site. All my bookings are now neatly listed which is a big relief.
Some were not there so when we went to Manchester the previous week so there must be a lot of behind the scenes work being done.
I have been switched to an A380 from the A345 on one flight and it has a lousy connection to PER with an extra couple of hours lay over.
I wonder who at SQ think 1am and 3am flight take offs and landings are going to be a big hit with flyers.

The site remains criminally slow. I thought the Age website was the worst ever in terms of loading time, but SQ gives it a good challenge.

Yes I went back to visit and it is still a clunker tonight. My bookings are still there fortunately although I got switched to a 3 am Singapore landing on an A380 instead of the 6am landing on the A340 into Singapore. Ouch a 6 hour layover instead of 3 hours.

Checking the site last night for our next flights shows only the legs to SIN and no ongoing flights - however I do have e-mail confirmations.
