New SilverKris Lounge Melbourne

If it's opening in September that's two months earlier than they had anticipated (according to the rep I spoke to in March). Cool.

Given the House had tarmac views I suspect no dungeon.

Back in the VAi days, I recall looking out over gate 15 several times as I waited for boarding.

Have no doubt the whole lounge will have tarmac views. And you can see the F section from the front entrance it looks like it goes all the way to the window. But wouldn’t be out of character for SQ to leave the F lounge in the dark …

This new lounge looks really impressive. A huge game changer from the old dungeon lounge.

However I cannot help but ask - are they really sure September is when it’ll open?

I welcome this news but I also note it’s quite a bit earlier than the original early 2027 ETA, and as I have a flight from MEL in October, as a Krisflyer Elite Gold, this has really gotten my hopes up. Maybe I’m overthinking it but while SQ has precedent for new Business Class seat products to be delayed, I guess it’s not really the same for new lounges?

If it does open in September then wonderful and I look forward to giving this forum a comprehensive review.

This is the timeline from the company building it so I can believe it.

The bones of the lounge are very good already so SQ probably just need to put their imprint on it and also add things like the live cooking station. Can't think it should take that long.

If they get it right, it will really increase the attractiveness of SQ J out of MEL. Far better than the QF J lounge and sufficiently nice to feel like the step down from the QF F lounge isn't a deal breaker, especially when combined with the superior on board product and connectivity to Europe.

Great news, not a fan of the current SQ lounge at all to the point we just head straight to the NZ lounge. Will have to give it a try when it opens

Post 1 does not have a source. A published verifiable credible source is always good.
From ExecTrav. (hard to know who got the photos first)
Singapore Airlines is set to open a swish new SilverKris Lounge at Melbourne Airport, and these leaked images show it might just be Melbourne’s best business class lounge.

As previously reported by Executive Traveller, Singapore Airlines is moving out of the downstairs ‘dungeon’ lounge level and into a larger, light-filled location with views over the airfield. Melbourne’s new SilverKris Lounge – due to open before the year is out – has been shaped by Mode Design, which also worked on SQ’s Perth lounge.

Earlier this week, the Mode website’s Portfolio section was updated to proudly showcase its work on Singapore Airlines’ new Melbourne lounge, complete with a set of detailed renders. That page was very quickly taken offline (we suspect Mode received an urgent phone call from SQ), but not before Executive Traveller saved the images and details.

This puts its new location up on Level 2, adjacent to the Emirates Lounge and on the same floor as the Qantas First Lounge and the independent Marhaba Lounge

Of more interest to most people is the on-off-on-off upgrade of the QF business lounge.

It's a decent size the old House lounge - which is currently a tiny dungeon.

I have flights in July and mid December so I suspect my 2nd trip will be in the new lounge :)
