New Qantas website is cr*p! I want the old one back!

Trouble is "The Business is composed of many entities - and those with the of "procurement" often don't see the reailities.

Web developers don't really "write programs" these days, they "paint screens" and apply enough rules/constraints to pass" User Acceptance Testing" (UAT).

The UAT scripts are based on specifications which are rarely fully descriptive, the authors generally assuming the "business rules" of the existing systems will be somehow automatically transposed to the new platform without the need for specifics.

Hey Serfty

This may be in Qantas' case but definitely not standard practice. The UAT scripts we use follow the end-to-end process using the new rules of new systems. They are written to be very descriptive ensuring that our employees can complete not just 'tasks' but the entire processes. An upgrade we are putting into our business right now, has had five months of UAT.

I think it is just poor management of the project from Qantas' side.

Couldn't agree more with the OP!

I've been trying to book a number of different flights through the Qantas website for weeks - some multi-city (you can forget that - that part of the website simply doesn't work) or award flights.

For the award flights, I keep getting shown that business class seats are available only to be offered a few pages further on, business class for the short-haul connection with economy for the long haul! I mean really, who in their right mind thought that was at all useful? If I want to do a long haul trip in business class, I actually want the long haul bit to be in business class!!!

Each time I've ended up giving up and flying with a different airline - one with a website that actually works!!

I wonder how much business Qantas has lost with its new website - they've certainly lost a lot of business from me and I'm one of those frequent flyers that always chooses Qantas first and in preference to all other airlines? If they've lost me, then they must have lost a LOT of other potential customers.

The short haul business, long haul economy has been around well before the new site was implemented.

I think it is very poor that QF is aware if this, yet don't eliminate these mixed class bookings. I wonder how it would stand up to legal challenge considering you aren't really getting what you paid for.

If that short haul business/long haul economy offering has been around for a while, it just reflects even more poorly on Qantas. I suspect it is their way of hiding the fact that there simply aren't that many actual business class long haul flights being offered!
Sadly, it just results in even more loss of business to them by discouraging the frequent flyers to stay with them.

Yes, its so annoying, click to get an int. J award seat and find you have to do a short haul in J and long haul in Y when all you want to do is fly direct from your city like MEL, SYD or BNE in J, then this waste of space boxes, lots of scrolling, I won't start on taking ASA's away, my views are well known around here. Then trying to find J seats long hall is ridiculous unless one books near year out. At least Q have stopped using "enhancement".

I'll have the old site back any day thank you.

So I received a Qantas Emergency Money Card the other day as compensation for my baggage not turning up in HK when I did. The blurb that came with it says that you can check your balance on line using this url: http://qantas.com.au/emergencyexpensecard.

Well guess what that link does.....? No really, go on, take a wild guess..... yeah, that's right, redirects to the QF home page. Bloody brilliant!!!

No doubt the Q FF site is a mess, I don't understand how they could wreck it as before it worked so well, yet they take no notice if what we have to say.

I've been tying to find a way to print out my itinerary on one page just like the old days. Now it's 7 pages to print out 6 flts. Anyone got a suggestion plse, copy and paste does not seem to work It's a USAirways bkg on miles so no QF email and the US Airways has never shown this bkg so I'm relying on QF.

Yes, have both QF and USA bkg reference, cannot view the US booking as it's always been garbled and won't show and they seem incapable of fixing it. They tend to say, 'you can see it on QF can't you what are you wingeing about'.

Even though the QF bkg is not complete. The Check My Trip shows the QF one, but not the USA one. Thanks for that.
