New Qantas route - Perth to Paris from July 2024

Hi @CR_Sydney, oh no you were bumped twice, that’s terrible! Good you finally made it here. Yes I was really shocked at how badly Qantas handled the whole situation. At least your SC came through, which is surprising as they usually need to manually add it in. Mine hasn’t come through but I’ve emailed them this am with the original itinerary and the SQ boarding passes. I booked mine at the Oct 24 DSC promo.

In regards to the Uber ride back to T1, Qantas told me I need to ring Uber to get a refund even though their voucher explicitly said only for use to and from T3/4. I went through the Uber support page and they were good giving me an instant refund. But again that should’ve been handled by Qantas rather than passing the buck back onto the passenger.

Not long to go till LTG … won’t be staying loyal to QF after that. They’ve really become less and less competitive in every way and it’s hard to justify paying the premium to fly QF now

For CR_Sydney
Probably have to put in a claim for ORC, or original routing credit, which QF "should" issue you the extra SC for.
They might warble, but you probably have to argue back.
They might start that you were not on the relevant flights, for the DSC offer.
Good luck, hope they do issue you the DSC tho.
Would be a pretty good innings on that route, even in Y.

Actually the DSC landed on Saturday in my account. They only credited the normal amount of SC SYD-PER-CDG. Not the detour with the SG replacement flights. So ended up with 70+70 pts. It was a sale economy ticket.

Just scrolled through all 18 pages of this thread, could not find an answer, so.... hubby booked on QF34 Per-Syd this week. Arriving at T1,
(of course car is parked at domestic terminal) does he has to go thru all the usual international arrival?
I did read somewhere about a "D" sticker on his boarding pass - how will that affect his arrival at T1. (guessing no duty free)

Pretty sure there is a domestic/APEC card other line at T1 on arrival where he will be manually processed.

(For Bindibuys), orange stickered BP takes the place of the IPC, (incoming passenger card), so hubby has to use the staffed lane, at immi at T1 in SYD on arr.
The IPC will be taken off him just before he exits gate a or gate b to get into the open area, facing the Rydges hotel at T1.
He would also not be able to do the digital one (IPC) either.
On the plane, hubby would have to tell crew or show crew his oranged stickered BP, as he would not need the IPC.
If the flight was a "dom pax on an int flight", as a pax on QF34, yep, no duty free allowed on the oranged stickered BP.
If he wanted to, he can sneak onto the SYD airports own inter terminal transit bus, which is not the same one as the QF one.
There is no way to walk from T1 to T3, and the train sucks $5 across, the Sydney buses bus will be $2.94.
Cant use the QF inter terminal bus either, as he would have surrendered his orange BP, and he would not have a BP to use the QF bus from T1 to the secure zone of T3.
===
If they dont do an equipment swap on him, he is all good, ie, will get the 787 full treatment, ie, just like leaving Aus in PER and arr Aus in SYD, but not really leaving Aus, did it many times pre covid.
If they swap his flight to a 330, lucky, but if they swap his flight to a 737, he will be flying into T3 anyway.
