Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

Totally different info on airliners.net, stating the QF flight is an E190.

JQ7991 SYD 0620-0650 WSI 320 25OCT positioning
JQ0362 WSI 1100-1125 OOL 320 25OCT first service

Also a QF E190 flight evidently for publicity as

QF6295 SYD 0800-0820 WSI 190 25OCT
QF6296 WSI 1200-1220 SYD 190 25OCT

Still a lot of coming soon outlets, and a bunch unlabelled.
On the larger Domestic side.

Flighty has struggled with my 2 flights since they were booked (although it was happy to accept them and believe they existed, it consistently says “flight record not found”). However. The OOL-WSI now is happier; WSI-MEL still giving it a headache

Let us know how the St Mary’s bus transfer goes if anyone is using it in the coming weeks. I will do a City to WSI run later next month on a weekend just to tick the whole experience box.

A good couple of hours watching the sunset over the blue mountains then.

Probably not too many other transferring passengers on opening day.
I have to collect checked bag and make it back through security and was going to have a bit of a wander around the outside of the building. The WSI-OOL-WSI flights are booked fairly solid (I couldn’t even find OOL-WSI on JQ, had to book through QF) and am stuck in a middle seat down the back. WSI-MEL I had a number of choices of seats even the cheap ones

JQ must be doing well next week on MEL-WSI the prices are through the roof. My Friday flight is now $599 and they're emailing me offering free changes to any other flight days around it

Looking at Qf to Syd prices are very high what's happening that weekend ?

and VA are making zilch…
Ah yes, but they are doing very nicely elsewhere, thank you.

So why would they bother with all the hassle and expense of setting up for (a few per week) flights from WSI?

Apparently they can charge $599 for a $59 seat…🤷‍♂️

Unless if the NSW Government and WSI hands VA a "handy subsidy package" to send just one aircraft on less than daily service out of BNE (effectively a government-funded charter), it's probably best for VA to send that aircraft on another rotation elsewhere.

Melbourne Cup long weekend, most people take the Monday off to slot in a mini break. Fares are stupid from Friday to Tuesday. The Friday before is priced just like any long weekend.

Check out this nonsense. You can fly to London for cheaper next Friday.
