New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

A question about crediting of DSCs.

If I have a flight near my FF anniversary, will the extra status apply to the FF year the flight was in, or the FF year the status credits hit my account ?

Just trying to work out some flight schedules (for the next DSC offer) and want to make sure the credits don't fall across 2 FF years.

Thanks

The day the flight was taken counts towards where it is accounted for - so it will be backdated if it takes a few days/weeks to credit.

You may have seen this already, but here’s a teaser (for the next DSC offer for later this month) from ET;

I have to book a flight for DRW-SYD in early October, and the date is not included with the Red Tail Sale. I was ready to book it soon and saw the ET article earlier today. The current price for 2 of the dates we are thinking about booking for the daytime QF841 flight is currently $415 while the day in between is $487. These flights have been the same price for a few weeks. Our Son lives in Darwin and we are going there to look after his dogs while he is away and he only finalised his dates today. We had already booked SYD-DRW with QFF points and now he has confirmed his return date we will book the DRW-SYD flight and would prefer the daytime flight rather than departing at 00:35 which we could book with points.

If we wait until the DSC offer comes in is it likely that normal fares may also increase when the DSC offer is introduced? We will be picking double QFF points as most of our flying is with points so do not have many SCs at this stage. I see on the QF website that DRW-SYD in discount Y would earn 1815 points.

I realise that no one know for sure what QF will do with pricing but I am interested in hearing if others have seen price increases of a lot of fares and not just sale fares as mentioned in the article. when DSC offers have been announced in the past. While another 3630 points if we were to earn double points would be handy, if the price is likely to increase we may be better to book it soon.
