Daytime flights is good news.
Connects to JFK on the outbound, but not the return.

True, but I would guess that most Adelaide folk would prefer the resurrection of the ADL-SIN route to link up with QF1/2 .Thankfully, the argument that Qantas doesn’t fly international out of regional cities like this no longer applies![]()

As @jrfsp says, this only connects to JFK and not from. But still, for those originating in NZ, something other than a 6am departure from AKL is quite nice.
I was going to post earlier that it would be pretty much impossible to connect in both directions, other than leaving a 737 at AKL for 16+ hours, or using a flight to/from another city to operate the ADL leg in the other direction.
There’s probably more to be gained connecting outbound, as at least with inbound it gets to AKL so early there’s plenty of options to get to ADL, albeit with an extra stop. Outbound you’re on MCT on both stops and are screwed if anything goes wrong.
Some say SFO is hard to transfer/transit.Providing one stop connection to JFK as an alternative to the UA ADL-SFO flight?
I'm still a bit dubious that isn't going to regularly end up diverting to SYD or BNE.....
Now we find out its the old dated 737-800!Would Qantas repaint and put their cabin in on a Jetstar a321neo?!?
Just did the same because I was looking at doing a family holiday later this year. It's a bit disappointing (though, for the sake of convenience/not connecting with an infant, I doubt it'll really affect my choice). I had thought that there was a minimum points/SC earn on QF flights.Just did a dummy booking, looks like no QFF points and no QFF SC earnt from the ADL -> AKL flights, either way, ie, big X on the points earn and status credit earn section, otherwise via MEL/SYD/BNE, its 120 QFF SC.

Maybe when WSI Airport opens, it might be a plus for you, too.As a Sydneysider, I would much prefer Adl-Sin than Adl-Akl. I could fly the former but never the latter!

Going through TSA and all that.
Maybe going the long distance via AKL is better, AKL airport is easy to transfer/transit, smallish airport, and only 18 int gates.

Of course it will earn. The backend probably is waiting to be updatedJust did the same because I was looking at doing a family holiday later this year. Might need a kick up the backend in that case. The backend probably is waiting to be updated
