I'm a bit confused and hoping someone can answer me. We have a party of four travelling to Paris and return from London to Melbourne in Oct/Nov. Flying Business class with Cathay Pacific and fully booked and paid for in February 2014. The party consists of one QF platinum FF, two QF gold FF and one very sad QF bronze FF. Obviously Qantas changed the amount of status credits earned on OW airlines from July 01. However I have read twice now that for bookings made prior to July 1 they would honour the old earning table. So we would earn twice as many SC as if we booked the same trip now. I can't find any info on the QF website and am hoping that some one here would be able advise if this is true.

Not quite bookings prior to July 1, however as the bookings were paid for in February, in theory you should receive the old number of SC's and points. If you dig around the site, I am fairly sure it is stated that was the case.
However in reality you make have to chase up the points if they do not credit correctly.

Thanks for your help. I dug a bit further and found a clause relating to 'bookings made before the announcement about the change'. So hopefully will be fine. I'll get the platinum member to ring and clarify and then be prepared to chase things up when it doesn't go through correctly

Having completed some bookings in early July, which were booked before the changes were announced, I found that the Qantas flights were adjusted automatically within a few days of the original points posting. However, none of the partner airline adjustments posted within 4 weeks, so a quick email to Qantas, and the additional status credits were added, so I would recommend monitoring your activity statement, and contacting Qantas if they are not adjusted automatically.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
