Hi everyone,

I stumbled upon this forum via Australian Business traveller, and thought I should say hello. I've always enjoyed flying since I was young, saving up every spare cent to go travelling (long haul flights) in my uni years, and now I travel a lot for my job.... mostly short haul sectors across AU and NZ, with an occasional long haul trip. The novelty of flying hasn't worn off, even though I fly almost every week. As I spend much of my time in planes and airports, I really do appreciate how efficient the whole process is for Platinum travellers.

Great forum, now I'm off to explore!

Welcome aboard, always good to have another Melbournian aboard. Keep a look out in the meetings section, there may just be a small event in the next couple of weeks. :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Apologies for the newbie question… how does the meetings section work in this forum?

I noticed that people are posting dates/times of when they fly and which lounge they’ll be in. Is this so that fellow forum members can catch up for a drink before a flight, or is it more of a way to let non-Platinum AFF forum members to gain access into the Domestic Business and International First lounges?

So if I’m flying internationally, and I have a spare guest slot to bring in someone into the First Lounge, I post my details, and then whoever is interested will PM me to confirm they want my guest slot?

Welcome to AFF :D

It's an informal catchup/guest philosophy.

Both really, it's always interesting having one's first AFF lounge meet ... we come in all shapes and sizes ...

Yep, that and maybe they have their own access but can catch up for a chat etc due to being in the lounge at the same time.
