New First Suites seem impossible to redeem as Saver

The old style first suites are readily available as a Saver redemption, but the newer version is always 'waitlist' at best.

Am I being blocked because I have no status? Do they just book out the instant they are released? Or am I just missing something?

For new suites we booked Advantage.
Came home from London with AA Miles as we could not get set with Kris.

If experts like yourself can't get them on Saver I've got no chance. The older suites are still pretty good though. First world problems and all...

For the majority of routes, SQ just don't release Saver availability for new suites. It's just what they've decided. If people really wanted to try them out then SQ knew they'd pay Advantage rates anyway.
Also there's only 6 new suites as opposed to the old 12, leading to decimated award availability.
