New Conrad to open soon in London

A very nice property, and as an IHG Platinum Ambassador, I'll be sad to see it change teams... but hey, might get myself a free breakfast along with my upgrade next time, at least :)

I'll be staying in early September while it is still an IC.
Sadly no exec lounge this time as we arrive in the evening and it is not worth the extra $$$.
I will just have to go back and experience it as a HH Diamond :)

Could be sooner rather than later. Anyone staying from 1/9/14, may be at the Conrad.

No new booking availability on the ICH website for Westminster after 31/8/14. Nothing on the Hilton website as yet.

Ok, the new hotel is open for booking at fairly eye-watering prices
It's being called Conrad St James, bookings from Sep 1.

I have reserved a flexible room for the last night I'm in LHR and will stay there if the price comes down closer to the time and/or they release decent priced Award redemptions.
Fingers crossed ! (with a little help from trippin_the_rift's Angel )

Just checked the dates I need in May. £400 per night?! I don't think so... Both Waldorf and Trafalgar are half that price.

Have stayed a few times at the Intercontinental Westminster and enjoyed it. Nice new rooms and nice exec lounge. Bar and restaurants are quite pleasant as well. Location is excellent and close to St James Park and walking distance to sights. Be interesting to see what they do now they are changing to Conrad.

Note that IHG Platinum got us absolutely no special deals, no upgrades (even thought they had 6 suites empty at the time) and just low speed internet. Only AW's get high speed.

So pleased it's changing hands on Sep 1 - now I'll be staying as a Diamond and my booking is already showing an upgrade to an exec king :D.

I need to book a hotel for few nights in central London later this year, I have meetings around the city so there is not really an ideal location. I'm more concerned with good value for around 160 - 200 GBP, good ambiance and facilities for a solo traveler, and treatment as HH Gold.

Just wondering which Hilton properties contributors to this thread rate as their favourites and why?

I will definitely now be staying at the Conrad St James. Standard room rewards have been loaded at 80K and I have booked a points plus pay at 32K plus £98 so much better than the £400 room rate they were asking.
Stay is next weekend and I will report back my experience :)

Look fwd to your report. Was one of my favourite hotels as IHG.

I had a points stay on Thursday night (50,000 IHG points booked months ago).

We checked in at 8pm so missed evening drinks but coffee (machine), juice and soft drinks were available and I asked if there were any bikkies and they brought out 2 types of nice shortbread.
I booked the base room and received an exec room which is really a little suite - a bedroom area and a tiny lounge (with two seater sofa and coffee table) separated by a swivel flat screen tv. The room has a decent sized bathroom with basin and bath in the main room and a separate toilet and shower with frosted glass doors.

There was plenty of room in the entry area for 2 suitcases (only one suitcase stand as seems usual). Nespresso coffee machine but no milk. Comfy bed. Our room overlooked a street and the double glazed windows were next to useless as a lot of outside noise filtered through.

The exec lounge is small but classy. I asked if we could choose breakfast in the restaurant and they said not a problem. The breakfast was not extensive but the offerings were most enjoyable. Juice was brought to our table and there was a small buffet with assorted fruits, bircher muesli, yogurts, cereals, cold meats, cheeses and the usual muffins, pastries, breads and rolls. We selected hot choices from a menu - my +1 had the full English breakfast and I enjoyed the waffles with fresh berries and Canadian maple syrup. Espresso coffees were also included.

If catching a train just be aware that St James station doesn't have a lift or escalator. In hindsight we should have got off at Westminster and walked to save lugging our bags up the stairs.

We were offered a late checkout but declined as we were leaving at 11.15. I asked the lady in the lounge if the exec room that we received is a standard upgrade for diamonds and she checked her cheat sheet and said it was
:).

Overall we were very happy with our stay.

One of the best P+P value I've seen lately!
Booked for a couple of nights next year :)
