Velocity u suck
Have 2m points mainly for EY F redemptions
Now retrospectively devalued
Wheres my compensation

SQ F/R at A$1300 in taxes and fuel surcharges return MEL-LHR now looks like excellent value compared to US$1200 plus taxes on EY F and that's before we start talking points difference 225250KF v's 403000 VA . Very poor show VA. I was happy to swallow the "enhancement" of 187K to 203K to Europe when EY changed tables but this "enhancement" is more stratospheric the even Virgin Galactic. Time to get booking the EY F redemptions then change dates nearer the time GRRRRRR!!!!!

Very much considering dumping Velocity and crawling back to Qantas over this. Can't even believe I'm saying it

There isn't much say about date/time changes in the T&C post 18 June so wondering if possible to book 330days ahead and make changes then without incurring the hefty surcharges.

yep that's what I'm banking on Going to book my usual routes and then change dates. From recollection $60 to change date but I need to check the small print. So long as you don't /( or they don't make you ) cancel ticket I think you should be ok not to incur surcharges

Fairly depressed about this, as a Melbourne based flyer that flies to Europe quite a bit the EY/VA alliance has worked very well for me. A fabulous new Melbourne lounge, an excellent A380 on the way which I just experienced J on the AUH-JFK route, I was feeling very satisfied about the service despite the recent points increase it still felt like good value. I am silver with QF and had a decision to make about where to focus, VA/EY was well ahead until this change which points me back to EK/QF again. Gutted, I will probably just burn my VA and EY points over the next year and put all revenue flights over to QF.

Appreciate if you can advise on the small print once you find out as I am interested in doing the same :)

Unfortunately no.

I rang VFF several times over a few weeks to check this out for the extra cost for a F Eur rtn as travel dates were 370 days from new costs.

Response each time was, "Any rebooking or change of dates gets recosted at the time of the change. Your original points/cash are deducted from costs applying at the time of making any change in addition to a per change fee (I forget the words they used exactly).

VERY sad/bad Q-like enhancement.

Double dose a few days apart. interesting and obviously COINCIDENTAL timing of course.

And isn't there a 15% bonus offer for transferring CC points to VFF?

One hand gives and the other takes away.

Damnit. Just booked some SQ J flights, if I'd known about this beforehand it would have been to very tempting to go Qantas, would have been a good jump towards getting my QF status back.

It should be noted that SQ redemptions are still better value for money than QF/EK redemptions. So although very disappointing, when correctly structured with other points earning opportunities, VFF still has some advantages over QF.

One way to vent your anger and disappointment at the plans for this new charge is to post a comment on VA's Facebook page and Twitter feed. These social media sites are watched by VA.
