Also appears that there is now a oneworld Emerald and Sapphire lounge in the space that was the temporary Al Mourjan North lounge.

This lounge is well worth hiking over to if you have the time and aren't arr/dep from a nearby gate. Compared to my experience of the overcrowded OG lounge, this one had very few people in it making it calm and inviting and definitely refreshing. (It is also as difficult to find as the OG lounge.)

The areas are well spaced out with the dining and family areas a long way from the beverages only, shower, prayer rooms area which offers a nice distinction to spaces.

I walked straight in for a shower, not another passenger in sight.

There were as many staff members as there were passengers! So many of them literally standing around waiting for someone to ask them a question.

I asked an attendant at the buffet if there was any cut up fruit (there was otherwise only bowls of apples which I wasn't in the mood for) and she said they would bring me a plate. So they will do things on request for people. There's a sushi bar as well.

Rosé champagne on offer was Philipponnat. Not a patch on the on-board rosé champagne which is Laurent-Perrier Grande Cuvée Alexandra (which has quite the price point!!)

Yeah, it was the same when I was there—so many staff just standing around waiting for something to do!

I assumed it would have become easier to find now that they’ve opened the Louis Vuitton lounge-within-a-lounge (it was literally under wraps when I was there), but from reports I’ve seen the entrance still looks basically like this. There’s no sign to say it’s the lounge entrance.

We enjoyed our visit in March except that the kitchen serves pre packaged steak. You cannot order medium/rare only well done. The rest is worth a visit.

I used this lounge twice last month. It is a vast improvement on the dismal Al Mourjan lounge. It is light, green, airy and comfortable. It is also pleasantly empty although that will presumably change with time.

If I could make one improvement, I would get rid of the contoured lounging seats in the quiet zone in favour of a flat bench, and I would make the air conditioning in there adjustable rather than the current arctic. I ended up resting on the carpet using the rolled up blanket as a pillow.

The one thing with most lounges at Doha is that the food is catered. You see people wearing chef clothes running around but all they do is the sandwiches.
To be honest, the food is a pretty big let down and only offering catered food is not what you'd expect from a premium lounge.

Hence you cant get your steak as per request nor get any other food cooked by the chefs. their job is to heat food...

Several airlines have been marketing “onboard chefs” on and off for years.

Guess what, that’s all they do on board also.

But to be fare the “chef” on an EY flight a few years back did actually managed to reheat a medium rare steak without cremating it.

The upstairs dining at the original AM has a cook to order menu.

Admittedly it’s not EK F standard but they can vary the menu to your request and it isn’t buffet food or sandwiches.
