In January I am travelling on an American Airlines flight J Class from Miami to Buenos Aires and was wondering if anyone knows if the 777 flight currently operates with the new business class seats.

The AA web site shows the new layout only from April

Hi pyffi. Welcome to AFF! :p

AA have only just begun updating the 777-223ER's after the 767's. There's a good thread over on FT in the AA forum discussing the upgrade on the 777's though it doesn't mention specific flights the aircraft that have been refitted with. Thread: Boeing 777-223ER and NGBC Seats consolidated thread - FlyerTalk Forums

According to Wiki (last updated November 07) 10 of the 47 aircraft have been converted so that gives you about a 20% chance. Having a quick flick through the thread above, i can't see a mention of MIA-EZE for any flights. To have a complete stab in the dark (and please don't rely on it) I would imagine AA would implement these onto their more premium routes (ie. NRT & LHR) before South American flights start but that is a pure guess.

You could always post in the thread above on FT and let the real AA experts answer. ;)

Sorry for not being able to help you a little more!

Cheers,
littl_flier

Don't forget that you can pull at Seatmap and this should tell you.

777s with NGBC have two additional seats, 8HJ, and one less lavatory in Business than current for a total of 2.

thanks little_flier..the link was helpful..will let you know if I get to use the NBCS
