So the end result is, you don't need to buy that MARS Bar.
I was really starting to have panic attacks that I had to buy a Mars bar from Coles without a flybuys card. I hate Mars bars, keeps sticking between my teeth.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The saga continues.

Just happened to check the ANZ offer via the QANTAS web site and on the page which describes the offer if you now click on the link that says "apply online now" it gives you an error to saying "Page cannot be displayed".

It would seem that QANTAS are fixing up their web site in order to point you to the correct page or maybe they no longer want you to apply :(

woops...now seems that they've reinstated the original page.

I think I can now offer closure on the confusion that is surrounding this offer and the conflicting terms and conditions relating to the awarding of the 16,000 FF Points.

According to the ANZ Bank there is fact two different promotions and it all depends how you apply for the card that determines whether or not you need to spend anything on the card or just have it activated by a certain date.

If you apply for the card via the ANZ web site you'll be subected to the following terms and conditions:

"16,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Bonus Points promotion

Information on this promotion forms part of these terms and conditions. Taking part in this promotion constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions."

This promotion commences at 9 am (AEST) Saturday, 26 November 2005 and closes at 5pm (AEST) Thursday, 15 December 2005 ("Promotional Period").

To be eligible for this offer, persons must:

During the Promotional Period, apply and be approved for an ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa or ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Gold by 15 December 2005 via the ANZ website address, and activate their ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa or ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Gold card prior to 5pm (AEST) on 15 January 2006."

However, if you apply for the card via the QANTAS web site you'll be subected to the following terms and conditions:

"16,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Bonus Points promotion

Information on this promotion forms part of these terms and conditions. Taking part in this promotion constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.

This promotion commences at 9 am (AEST) Monday, 28 November 2005 and closes at 5pm (AEST) Saturday, 31 December 2005 ("Promotional Period").

To be eligible for this offer, persons must:

During the Promotional Period, apply and be approved for an ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa or ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Gold by 31 December 2005 via the ANZ website address, and activate their ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa or ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Gold card prior to 5pm (AEST) on 31 January 2006."

Beats me why the difference :? :?

Q. What happens when I submit my application?
A. Once you have completed and submitted your application, you will receive a response within 60 seconds indicating the application outcome. An email will also be sent to you informing you of the outcome.
Has anyone ever received a positive outcome in 60 seconds.

All I got was your application is being processed. :?
Yes, same deal for me when I applied late on 28/11, but I got an e-mail saying that ANZ will contact me soon. True to their word, they did e-mail me at 9am the very next day stating that the application was successful and that they gave me a ridiculously high credit limit.

The welcome pack arrived on 2/12 and the card arrived on 5/12, only four business days after approval - very impressive turnaround.

I've activated the card and bought my bus ticket with it and so I guess I'll be 16,021 FFp richer soon - mwahaha! :)

Actually, I had that too - they gave me a credit limit far in excess of my other mastercards or Amex Credit Card. I intend to drop it to $1000.

Just signed my wife up. She was looking for a "quarantined" credit card, and the 16,000 points were handy (CBR-BNE-CBR for example).

A good-sized credit limit too (why worry about the size of it if you're disciplined?).

:)

Only 2 hours left to apply and now I'll share my tip for this scam.

Got 2 of my relatives that have a FF acc# but don't fly QF enough to care.

They both have brand new ANZ FF CC's coming in the mail, which of course, d00t will gladly pay the yearly/rewards fee ($95) for. In exchange for the 16,000 points of which can be very legally transferred to d00t on QF.com being a family member.

$190 for 32,000 points and a sweetened christmas pressent from rellies - nice.

A man after my own heart. I'm only sorry I didn't think of it.

Bugger :!:

An ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa is $95 total fee for 12 months - even if you never used the card and then cancelled it, $95 for 16,000 QFF points represents good value as far as I can see!

I think it is a great deal. I just did a check on Qantas website via the purchase topup points. This is what it came to!

Number of points you can purchase: 16,000
Cost of points: A$480.00

Looks like ANZ are continuing their generous offer, however have downgraded their 16,000 to 5,000 points.

Mick,

Same type of outcome. Thought I'd give it a go as these are really cheap points. Did application at about 10:00pm, had an email response about a minute later and was approved at 09:05 the next morning. :D :D :D

Just wish I'd thought of d00t's little scheme.

It appears the signup bonus is about to be deposited into my QFF account - I found this when viewing my Reward Points on ANZ Internet Banking:
Bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned this period 16,000.0
I guess this gets deposited into my QFF account at the next statement run. Has anyone already received their points?

Yes, my wife received her 16,000 points a couple of weeks ago.

Hi Mick
Can you advise where on ANZ internet banking you saw your rewards points. I've searched the ANZ bank website and I cannot see any reference/link to rewards points.
The only way I can review my QFF points earned via ANZ credit card is via logging into the Qantas website.
If you can advise how points are view via the ANZ internet banking site that would be great.
Thanks

Hi Kaz,

Once you're in ANZ IB, just click on Cards on the left hand side and then you should see the View Reward Points option. That should then take you to the View Reward Points - ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa page. Hope this helps.
