New Amex statement credits

Every time one of these (infrequent) overseas offers comes through it just reminds everyone that the card is effectively useless outside of Australia because of the 3% foreign currency fee.
In this case it's really a credit of $31.45, after you subtract the fee.
Agreed, with the exception of the $200 international dining credit. I'm perfectly happy to spend $200 in a good restaurant, with a $6 foreign currency fee on top, and then get $200 back.

I'll also use it on hire cars overseas because the insurance is worth the 3% foreign currency fee.

Good point, I quite like that offer as well. Sort of the exception that proves the rule I guess. 🙃

Europcar - 250 / 75
Pelago - 100 / 15

and Amex imitating the cashback sites;

Shoes & Sox - 7% back
Superdry - 7% back
Reebok - 7% back
Kenwood - 10% back

Personally I am hanging out for a Pet Circle offer. I am waiting to place an order and PC frequent Amex offers seem to have dried up.

I saved $150 using the Velocity Hotels Hopper Hotels cashback. Just hope the booking actually goes through correctly to the hotel. I can never fully trust these sorts of booking sites, especially when you have a partner web site in the mix e.g. Velocity Hotels web site.

I trust these booking sites as much as any other. I have made 100+ bookings with Qantas Hotels, Trip.com, Hotels.com, Agoda, Booking.com, etc. over the years and only 1 has ever been problematic - the IHG hotel had received the booking from Hotels.com but somehow had not allocated a room in their system. I have also booked direct with the hotel or via ALL, IHG. Of course YMMV.

The Velocity Hopper Amex offer is a very generous discount and I have used it as well.

If you have any concerns you can also contact the hotel directly to make sure they have your booking.
