New Amex statement credits

Last week I received the 9.9% offer across several cards - & ignored it.

Today we've got another offer. Defation is rampant!

Same details but the rate is now 3.99%!

Yes. I also received both in my Amex email. The Amex 3.99% seems to come around every 6-12 months, or so.

I have the Velocity Platinum card and my spend this month is down compared to the last couple of months.

But I believe my renewal is due this month or next.

I can't find a catch - literally money for nothing!

If I activate a supplementary card before 31/3/2021, would I be able to activate the offer on that one too?

This is just a replacement and extension of your regular annual fee offer. Discussed before, came out several weeks ago for others.

As for no offers over the last 12 months, something is seriously wrong with that.

I haven't been a player of the gift card "game". From what I can see of the Velocity Platinum offer there doesn't seem to be any exclusions of gift cards-so Dan Murphy might be a choice?

Seems strange to get this though, as I already have used the $450 credits for the previous and current year (November annual fee date). I'm happy!
