Response received from Westpac post FOS complaint some weeks ago:

Dear Mr Elite,

I refer to your concern regarding a promotion we held which provided you with double points on your Altitude Card for the first three months.

You were previously advised by our staff that although your card was activated in May, you would only receive double points until 22 June 2014.

I have reviewed your card and application and can confirm you are eligible for this promotion. You will receive double points on all eligible spend for three months commencing 9 May 2014. It may take up to two months from the end of the promotion for the promotional bonus points to be added to your points balance.

Please accept our apologies for the confusion surrounding the date you were previously provided, 22 June 2014 was the date in which we closed off the promotion to new applicants.

Yours sincerely,
Westpac Customer Service Team

Now will be just interesting to see if bonus pts total for "eligible spend" equates to pts post for ALL spend during this period. Will report back as it unfolds.

Well it is a work in progress Mr Elite! Good luck wish is coming from Perth.

All ok over here in Perth provided I can get Mrscove's Woolies credit card working some day soon. The BankWest year has just rolled over so 200,000 points coming from that one shortly.
I am still shocked QF WP has boarded the discounted Woolies Gift card train.
Back on Altitude Black my warehouse has filled up nicely by paying you know who.

I read an earlier post about refunds to the credit card of tax from shopping in Europe having points deducted from the account. Made a claim for refund for tax at Milan Airport in early June 2014 (my shopping is not in the same league as earlier poster!) and have now checked my altitude account has had points deducted from the account. A copy of the entry is below. Now I know will need to do it differently next time.

Since I received tax refunds back into my card, I have stayed on zero altitude points despite making a number of recent purchases. I called Westpac who informed me that I am still on NEGATIVE 13,000 Altitude points and I will stay negative until I make up the deficit. I had transferred all my points to Krisflyer just prior getting all the tax refunds, hence my negative balance.
Next time will definitely ask for refund onto another card!

No you need to set up a bank account for return of funds and not into a credit card - well so I have been told! Pay with card - refund to bank account - I am sure you will work out the logistics here.

Yes I rarely call the fiscal fiend but I spent about 30 minutes getting bank accounts corrected following a refund going to a wrong account. We have multiple entities and getting them all correct was quite worthwhile with several refunds coming by EFT just a couple of days later.
Life was meant to be easy (provided you don't invest in Lloyd's as a name with unlimited liability). That fixed Malcolm Fraser for saying "Life wasn't meant to be easy".

Ok all new Alt Black holders who took up card with 2 x pts offer? Has anybody received the bonus pts in a lump sum and did this sum correspond to total spend on card during 3mth window including ATO pmts?

Hi Elite

I took up the offer, my 3rd month statement will be ending in bout 10 days. CSM said points should be posted then. I havent put thru any major spend since I was told my business spend should not be applicable to the double points promo. But he did say it should come thru fine.

Have you received your 3 months in 1 lump sum?

No I have received no bonus pts at all. As per my earlier post I have been advised that I will indeed bonus pts for 'all eligible spend' - that has not as yet occurred.

I have received 3pts for every $1 spend since card first activated which includes ATO spend - but am very keen to see if bonus pts received by others does mirror the 'standard earn'.

I'm still interested to hear how you jagged the bonus points as an existing cardholder and kicking myself for not doing it myself! Could have doubled my recent 6 figure haul! :(

IIRC, your 3 months have finished? if so, how long ago?

Aug 8 was expiration of 3mth 2 x pts window. Next statement cycle was Sep 2 - only std pts earn recorded on Sep 2 statement.

Yes I know that advice is that points could take up to 2 mths post expiration of promo window but I had been also previously been advised that bonus pts would post in block on completion of statement cycle in month following promo window expiration.

Hence the question.

My 3 months concludes in the next week or so (exact date keeps changing depending on whom I speak to at Westpac ...)
I have received 3 points/$ spent on everything so far (including ATO) , but no bonus points yet.
My concern is not just that they may not award double points for ATO spend, but that in looking through all transactions manually, they will notice that many of my expenses (perhaps 50%) are ATO. There is a chance they may then remove points from my Altitude account for prior ATO payments which have been automatically credited. I am keeping my Altitude balance zero or negative for the moment (all moved to Krisflyer) so that Westpac can not retrospectively take them away.

Ya I'm getting a bit worried now with the double points promo. I'm already received my first 2 months double points, and have been waiting for about 3 weeks for my 3rd month's worth, and they still haven't posted. The first two posted within a week of end of statement date, so the fact that I haven't received any for this last statement date, coupled with the fact that I whacked about $200k in ATO payments, new car purchase, pre-paying of tons of bills, in the last month AND that Westpac has now announced that they'll stop paying points for ATO payments, am getting a bit skittish...
