I'll be travelling to the US in November and will be there for 3 weeks. There is a slight difference between the name on my e-ticket and that on my passport.
On the e-ticket my name is Michael Wright, whereas my passport is Michael Ryan Wright. Is this something i should worry about? Generally i never use Ryan in everyday use.

Should be no worries at all with that slight difference. Tickets tend to be issued Mr Surname/Firstname (very rarely is the middle name used unless you specifically ask for it to be added), whereas passports tend to be MR Surname, Firstname MiddleName.

I agree, my passport has my first, middle and last name yet every e-ticket has been first and last only - never been a problem.

I have never had an issue, my tickets are nearly always issues with just 2 names and passport 3. As long as the names match that are present does not seem to be an issue.

Thanks for all your help guys. I just wanted to cover my bases, as this will be my first time to the US and by myslef, and i had seen around the net that the names had to be the same.

You'll be fine, theres no requirement when issuing tickets to issue with the middle name, actually in my years as an agent, I can't think of one time I ever did so, though I do recall several instances when I had clients without surnames...thats always an interesting one!

You'll be fine, no need to worry at all.
