Yes, but with Macquarie. You will find my experiences detailed in this thread:

Macquarie Platinum Card with Qantas Points (40,000 QFF bonus points)

No. They are concerned about potential fraud rather than customer inconvenience.

Although Macquaire in my case did send me an email well after the event.

Yes. You don't qualify for the points unless you've made the spend. If the transaction never went through then you never made the spend.

It's common practice.

I think you can ask for a refund, but don't expect the points as well.

Have to agree with the good Dr on this, NAB have done the right thing if they expect fraudulent activity.

From their perspective if they do not block the card and another $10K goes through then they are required to pony up that money unless they can recoup it, then on the other hand someone may also have your details so it's the right thing to do on your behalf also.

No point in asking for a refund when all they have done is very common business practise.

Ive just received my card to today, can people recommend what to spend it on,

I have the Explorer + plat edge combo,
so I guess the best way to use it is to use it on the lowest points earning transactions, since I get 2ppd for explorer and 3ppd on supermarket spend

We have the same Amex combo so the NAB Signature only gets spend where Amex is not accepted. Simple really.

Data point. Bonus paid a few days after min spend reached. This was in between statements.

I just noticed today that the recent (17/11/2018) conditions for NAB credit card related travel insurance has shrunk the maximum length of an eligible overseas journey from 6 months to 90 days, unless you have a Signature card in which case it's still 180 days..

My interest in this card is largely for this change to 180 days! There are extremely limited cards that offer 180 days PLUS cover for one-way tickets rather then requiring return tickets. The only other card offering these parameters is a suncorp platinum which doesn't offer rewards points and requires full purchase of trip on the card compared to NAB's $500 spend.

Does anyone have experience claiming with NAB for overseas travel? Based on my research they are one of the better options out there and perhaps the $395 fee reflects this.

The alternative would be separate travel insurance in the order of $1300 for the trip minimum with no guarantees they would be better then NAB in the event of a claim

Pleased to have been successful with application for this card again. No exclusion period is a winner!

We've had no problems claiming through the NAB card. In effect, you deal with the underwriter, just as you would through one of the TI companies.

I know that I included my QFF number when I applied online but my first statement has arrived and no points have appeared in my QFF account. Do you need to call NAB to manually link your QFF account?

Yes I believe so. In fact, I had to call them twice.

Mine just posted from the number I provided them. It won't hurt to call them and just confirm that everything is set up correctly.

By the way after countless nab cards in the last two years I was finally knocked back for another one of these last week.

After I get a new credit card that earns QFF points with any bank I always call up to make sure they've got the QFF number registered against it.

I didn't contact them. Points posted about a week after the monthly statement arrived.

Due to low credit score?

Due to low credit score?
No. My credit score has actually gone up to over 800 recently. They stated that it was "probably" due to the high numbers of recent enquiries. I have had 3 NAB cards alone and another 4 cards in recent months so was pushing the envelope a little.

That’s a lot of cards. My score is lower and I’ve applied for 3 cards in total in recent months.

NAB need to have enough leading zeros to make your QFF number 10 digits. I think it's 10 - it has been mentioned here before. Kinda odd.

I didn't get any QFF points but a call rectified it.

Thinking of applying for this again - already had ANZ within 12 months, HSBC, St George, Qantas Premium, Westpac Altitude - not too many options left for me :)

That requirement is taken care of on the application form.

Macquarie?

AMEX?

Macquarie?

AMEX?

I had Woolworths which is via Macq , does that count? They were a total PITA signup wise.

Yeah I have AMEX Explorer. My AMEX problem is I actually run $50k/yr odd through it, so I do need ONE card that isn't churned. Potentially I get a lower earning card and use that, and signup/cancel the AMEX every 18 months to get the big bonuses.

Not normally. I have never had an issue.

I paid one 5k bill on receiving the card and 105000 points were in my account on the first statement.

NAB, in my experience are very easy to deal with and have had no issues with points posting.
