$395 annual fee is a lot. More than double what Westpac have been charging for a similar number of bonus points.

Yes it is, and I agree - I'm just the 'messenger'.

Not a bad offer if you have the Nab Choice package though as you get it free as part of the package.

Hmmm - I can't see any 1 year exclusions... Maybe I haven't looked hard enough.

Sure, but given the exclusion period on the Altitude card it's one of the next best options (ANZ also a no go zone for me).

NAB are probably thinking along those lines as well. Yeah, they'll miss out on picking up some people due to the fee but they'll pick up people who are excluded from other cards, and the annual fee plus interchange fees probably covers the cost of the points.

Then they'll be factoring in retaining a few people or getting the percentage who don't pay off everything on time.

$395 for 100k is within the realms of my churnometer. No lounge passes to offset the fee either though.
Nab - about the last to still ignore the exclusion requirement, good for them

I banked with NAB for around 10-12 years, signed up for this card a few months back (I think when it was at 75k points), and only two weeks ago closed both the card and the transaction account. Do you think there will be any issues applying for the card again seeing as there is no stipulation on exclusion period? Would they possibly just decline me because they can?

Agree with this. I was eyeing off this card but in the end went for the ANZ QF Black card. Only 75k bonus pts but $0 annual fee for the first year was a winner for me.

Agreed, the up front fee plus no other benefits that I can use it's just too hard to justify

NAB don't seem to care. I've done at least 3 NAB cards inside a 12 month period.

Yes there may be 'better' options out there, but at 0.395c per point it's still a pretty good deal really.

I don't understand what the issue is, I've said that $395 is expensive compared to other similar products - so if you don't like it, then don't get it.

But at 0.395c per point, in the overall scheme of accumulating mass points for premium redemption's it is still very good value.

Sure. So many cheaper options for points out there. But if people want to pay more that there prerogative.

I just did an online application and on the last confirmation page it said the annual fee is $295. Didn't get a screen dump unfortunately so I'll see what happens.
