NAB Changes Sign-Up Bonus Exclusion Period from 12 to 18 Months

I completely missed this change in terms and applied for the Signature card after only 12 months and then was wondering why the bonus points didn’t come through.

Pleaded for mercy with NAB and as a good will gesture they transferred 120k points (it was only supposed to be 90k with a further 30k on first year renewal). We have our mortgage with NAB which may have helped.

Points Club Plus now sorted for another year, 4 months early. Thanks NAB.
Hockey Monkey or Cheeky Monkey?

AmI right in reading that this exclusion period only applies if you opened and account and got bonus points in the last 18 months of closing the card? I closed out our NAB cards last year (need to confirm dates) but we had them for years - so def did not get any bonus points within the last 18 months...thinking of applying for the cards again to access the bonus offers but am not sure if we are eligible?

My reading of the T&Cs is that you are eligible for the bonus points. Eligibility isn’t tied to when you last had the card: it’s tied to when you last received bonus points.

Haven’t spent time reading the conditions yet, but getting the business card and wondering if I’ll be excluded from personal card bonuses and also does anyone know if it reports as a personal card for the purposes of getting more churning cards?

Hmm.. So, If I've held a NAB Qantas card (closed over 12 months ago), but want to apply for either the NAB Rewards or NAB Velocity.. where does this leave me?

Is it still the same that NAB Qantas and NAB Rewards are treated differently for exclusion period purposes?
I would encourage you to read the T&Cs for yourself just to be sure, but from my reading of them a couple of minutes ago, it is still the same: NAB Qantas and NAB Rewards are treated differently for exclusion period purposes.

Looks like NAB changed the T&Cs again. I can't find any mention in the T&Cs that states your eligibility to earn bonus points is based on when you last physically earned points., rather than when you last held the credit card.

Only this on the main NAB Credit Card website:

"Bonus points are not available to customers who currently hold, or have held, any personal NAB Qantas Rewards Credit Card in the last 24 months."

I stopped using the NAB Qantas rewards credit card in July 2024, requested the account to be closed Aug 2024 and switched to the ANZ FF Black Aug 2024, however there was an issue with the NAB credit card that showed 11c credit for nine months after I requested the account to be closed.

Checking the last statement relating to that credit card account shows a statement period for August to Sep 2025, with zero balance and zero transactions.

I do have a letter from NAB confirming the account was closed at the end of August 2024 but the above complicates things so I contacted NAB directly and they confirmed the 24 month period is from when the credit card was closed so I should be able to earn the bonus points if I open a new credit card from Sep 2026 onwards.

I'll most likely switch to the The Qantas American Express Ultimate Card in July 2026 before moving back to NAB in 2027 just to be on the safe side.
