Mystery mirror in Qantas PER J lounge

I was with my son waiting in the Qantas PER J lounge for our flight last week, when he spotted a large mirror above the Pizza Bar servery, and asked what it was for:





I couldn't figure what it is for - the angle doesn't work as a blind spot visual aid, as it's flat, not convex, and angled away from the working area and the doorway to the kitchen on the right (and who would look up to the ceiling to see if the way was clear?)

Does anyone have any ideas?

Rather than being a blind spot visual aid, perhaps it might provide a quick visual aid for the kitchen to see whether they need to restock the pizza bar?

Agreed. Also looks to be a security camera on the right at roof level

Hmmm, can't say I've noticed it before, but I'll check it out on Sunday.

Does it angle widely enough across the lounge for peeps to be able to see from a distance if there is pizza on the serving bench?

Perhaps not the intention but at busy times (and this lounge is often standing room only wall to wall miners) I imagine the mirror would allow those waiting in line to see what pizza was out without needing to push towards the front. And as a bonus also show everyone waiting if some grot uses their fingers instead of the serving tongs.

It's been there from day dot. It's so guests can see the pizzas.

Given the height of the bench, I wonder if it might be to provide wheelchair users a view of what pizzas are available?
