Was just checking the 200,000th post counter for the 200,000th post and looked at:

for the first time in ages.

Who can tell me the reason why so many members were logged in on that date/time...I have no idea. A Wednesday morning...

I remember at one stage, the record was set around the re-vamp for the QFF program (thus the site was swimming with new members and everyone had their opinion), but can't remember how many members were logged on.

I wonder if we can create a record by organising a "log-in" event :?:

A Wednesday morning seems like a very odd time to have record number logged in. (T'wasn't me - don't have internet access at work) Have looked at calendar. At that time in Australia on 15 July, it was still Bastille Day in France. Maybe many merry French internet surfers celebrated their national day by jumping on-line and visiting AFF. (It is a VERY long shot, yes, but it's all I could come up with in a couple of minutes!)

I saw that record too and wondered, briefly.

There must have been some big news on that day.

According to wikipedia that was the day NZ had the 7.9 magnitude quake, though I doubt that many Australians were concerned!

Also on that day, a Caspian Airlines flight crashed in Iran, killing all on board.

Take your pick.

Perhaps it could have a theme of seeing how many different QP's (or Virgin lounges) our people are in at the designated time. Might make for some status runs.

Interesting. ;)

There are 12 QPs ("fully operated" ones, not regional ones) in AU domestic, although I didn't know HBA still has a QP?

It wouldn't be extremely hard to find at least one WP in all but perhaps 3 of those places. Then add two guests :).

Regional QPs are a challenge because they are only open for times when there are QF flights. That could be as rare as 1 return flight per day.

Then there are a handful of DJ Lounges around. Not sure how many DJ Golds / DJ Lounge members there are, but the cheese is that you must be flying to enter the lounge (even if you pony up the $35 entry fee).

Then there are QPs around the world (including some that will close soon in New Zealand), although some are only associated lounges operated by other airlines, so they strictly wouldn't count.... :o
