A credit card receipt by itself doesnt prove anything. You could have run that bill up in the bar/restaurant without staying there.

Certainly, I've done this a few times; you gennerally need your name, address and the exact date(s) of stay.JohnK said:... But let's just say you forget to ask for copy of invoice if using express checkout. Can't you at a later date ring the hotel to send you a copy of the tax invoice/statement? Surely they can't deny that request or not acknowledge your stay. Once you have tax invoice/statement there is the proof required of your stay.
