A credit card receipt by itself doesnt prove anything. You could have run that bill up in the bar/restaurant without staying there.

It all gets back to these three "must do Always" basics:

Always ensure you are staying on a FF point qualifying rate.

Always ensure your FF number is entered into the hotels systems; check-in & check-out.

Always ensure you retain a copy of your statement until the points post.

(If using express checkout, you normally have a statement inside the envelope pushed under your door. Retain this statemnt and insert a note into the envelope, along with your card keys, requesting a final copy be mained to you.)

Good advice.

But let's just say you forget to ask for copy of invoice if using express checkout. Can't you at a later date ring the hotel to send you a copy of the tax invoice/statement? Surely they can't deny that request or not acknowledge your stay. Once you have tax invoice/statement there is the proof required of your stay.

Certainly, I've done this a few times; you gennerally need your name, address and the exact date(s) of stay.
