I need the help of a more experienced flyer than me, particularly anyone who has booked using Mileage Plus.

I am travelling to the US in December and in June I booked Dollar Rental cars in Las Vegas and also in Orlando, both bookings made using United Mileage plus miles. At the time of the booking I received the usual Confirmation and Booking numbers and the points duly deducted from my account. I have just checked my reservations and I am getting a message telling me my reservations could not be found.

I have tried entering the Confirmation number and Booking number any number of ways but keep getting the same message. I also tried both numbers on the Dollar site for the same result.

I have emailed United about the problem but God knows how long it will be before I get a response, so I'm seeking help here.

Has anyone else had this issue and can maybe help me out with a resolution.

Many thanks.

Bill

I rang the Australian number on United website and surprise surprise I was transferred to another department who kindly informed me I needed to be "transferred to the correct department", ten minutes later the "correct department" told me I needed to speak to another department and gave me a 1 300 number in the USA to call but that I couldn't call them straight away because hey were closed! I was then informed I needed to call early morning (Aus time) as the department was in Chicago.

No surprises with the "service" from United as I had to deal with them last and the service was just as appalling!

Then I got a big surprise as an email arrived from United but the content was not a surprise. My query wasn't even remotely addressed, in fact I'll share the reply;

Thanks for taking the time to write to us. We’re glad to hear from you.

Missing mileage for car rental and hotel partners must be requested through our partner directly. Please visit *********for address and phone contact information.

All requests need to be made within six months of the car rental or hotel stay

My request to them was specifically relative to 2 missing car reservations NOT missing mileage and it is clear my email wasn't even read and the "auto" response button was hit to trigger the reply.

The United response highlights my concern and why I sought advice here.

I will call Chicago but in the meantime any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Bill.

A week on and I'm still no closer to a resolution., despite numerous emails and phone calls to the US and here in Aus. Nobody it seems knows what the hell they're doing. In six emails i have had six different people reply and not one has addressed the issue, it seems nobody reads the emails.

My frustration is reaching boiling point and I'm about to explode.

Being my second bad experience with United, I intend to complain loud and hard about the appalling "customer service". In this respect does anyone know any contact info on who best to write to.

Any info greatfully accepted.
