Hi all.

I have asked a MOD to close the previous thread to avoid any confusion.

I will ask "Serfty the Great" to update a attendee table on this page as time goes by.

Even if you have posted you are attending in the other thread, would you mind reposting here. THanks to those who have sent a PM with booking details, the Hilton will be happy with us providing a guest list.

The list is Platinum or Gold, so if you are 10% chance of coming, it's probably less confusing if you wait to post until it's more probable you will attend.

I suggest booking the hotel now while rates are good, I have reviewed the hotel when it first opened if you want my opinion. Don't forget the apartments as well, they are very nice!

I have a question for the Hilton experts. I am Hilton Gold. At the Xmas drinks at HSW I booked a King Executive Room to be sure I had Executive Lounge access. May have received "upgrade" but only from bay view to city view room.
This time round was wondering if I booked a normal King Room at Surfers whether I would get an upgrade to an Executive room with lounge access, or whether its best not to take the chance and just book an Executive Room and be certain. I suppose at worst I could pay extra to access the Lounge for the drinks. Any thoughts?

As a Gold it is policy that your upgrade benefit (if selected in MyWay) is to an Executive Level room (other higher room types at management discretion). Generally this is not difficult as long as the hotel isn't too full.

If not (i.e. no rooms left), you'll still receive complimentary breakfast as per your benefit. Officially this also means no lounge access in this regard, but either you can try on check-in to negotiate complimentary lounge access (i.e. the only thing "wrong" with the booking is you have no Executive Level room), or otherwise I'm thinking that munitalP is trying to pull some strings so everyone will have access to the Exec Lounge (so you'll be able to gain access at least for the party).
