I'm flying to London and the routing looks like this:

PER-KUL-CDG on MH in J.
CDG - LHR on BA in whY.

Two PRN's.

Is 50 mins enough of a connection time in CDG?

And will MH and BA interline bags.

I'm a QF WP if that makes any difference :)

MH and BA will interline the bags but 50 mins is very very tight for a connection in CDG. You'd be going (literally running) from terminal 1 to 2A. You might just make it but your bags will probably not.

And don't you have to clear immigration at CDG for that connection?
I think if you tried to book that connection under 1 PNR it wouldn't be allowed.

Thanks! Do you know if MAS interlines with AF?
Yes, they do. I've done it before from MH to AF. It was AF who refused to do it when it was the other way around though (lazy coughs).

We have found immigration at CDG to always be very fast. They do a quick passport check just as we exit the plane then immi just stamp the passport without any forms etc. Though we are usually in the first batch off the plane. Where we usually struggle is waiting for luggage. But this wouldn't be an issue for the OP. I think 50 mins is too tight as you have to remember the plan may land on time but they can stuff around getting a gate etc. And if there is any delay eg a sick Pax then you are stuffed. Personally I'd build in 90 mins to be safe especially if you want your luggage to join you on the same flight.

Yes, I've also found immigration to be pretty fast at CDG and, like you (nonpop), I'm usually one of the first off the plane. Going from T1 to T2A is a long walk though. Bag transfers at CDG are notoriously slow. 90 mins is the absolutely minimum. I usually give myself 2 hours if I'm transitting through CDG.

We've opted to do a 2.5 hr layover rather than 50 mins. Time
For a shower in the BA lounge then a full day to be had in London :)

Good decision. It will be far less stressful AND you'll get to have a nice shower after the long flight. :)

You won't find a shower in the BA lounge at CDG ....
Is this the CX lounge that's between T2A and T2C? The OneWorld website lists that lounge as having showers...
I know the AA lounge in T2A definitely doesn't have showers.

I think if you tried to book that connection under 1 PNR it wouldn't be allowed.

The minimum connecting time advised by airport authorities for passengers arriving from a MH flight and departing on a BA flight in CDG is 3 hrs. Our reservation system wouldn't allow this itinerary to be booked in one PNR for this reason. While MH may assist with interlining bags, there is a distance between the arrival terminal (1) to the departure terminal (2A).

Certainly is 3 hours ... for BA only. The default is 1 hours.

I'm flying to London and the routing looks like this:

PER-KUL-CDG on MH in J.
CDG - LHR on BA in whY.

Can I ask why you aren't doing PER - KUL - LHR on MH? Is it so you can do a Schengen arrival into LHR instead of the full-on UK immigration?

It's because J to CDG was $5,200 on special (return) and to LHR was $7,200 - decided the extra time was worth the saving.

It's actually just over 3 hours at CDG and we get into LHR at a better time, then can head right to the hotel for check in and a shower etc.

Plus we are leaving from CDG after spending a few days in Paris. So that should work out fine in the end.

I'd have loved to have travelled QF given I am a WP there but their price was closer to $8-$10k pp and when I called to find out about "price matches" I was virtually laughed off the phone - so MH it was :)

The UK is not a schengen country from a common boarder perspective so no separate schengen arrivals. Maybe you are confusing schengen with European arrivals which only applies to customs when arriving from another EU country, though you must check in at an EU country not pass through for this to apply and your bag tag then has a green stripe on it.
