I would argue that the active membership is a little less 99:1 - it's far from 50:50, but there is an active female contingent here.

About the same ratio as in a typical QF premium boarding queue?
 
Obviously not to some, but wouldnt you agree its nice to have a balance? Maybe not if it doesnt matter;)
 
Maybe it matters when gauging overall ( majority) opinion on varying subjects. Otherwise .....it probably doesn't matter
