I recently tried to access the EK business lounge in MEL flying on QF metal with QF flight number as QF Gold in business class. I was refused access and was told that I was only eligible to use the Qantas Club. I pointed out the page with the FAQs (Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Emirates Partnership FAQs) stating that I should have access to EK lounges in Australia. Am I mistaken, or are the access rules still not known or understood by staff. Surely this kind of stuff should have been sorted out by now.

Did you get admitted in the end?

There have been reports recently that to get QFF status based access to EK lounges you need to have your QF number in the booking, but that distinction does not seem to apply here.
