Organising pre-Christmas gatherings can be challenging as (say this year) weekends like 7 and 14 December are 'peak time' for shindigs, but the AFF one is too close to Christmas Day. If you could find a venue - not easy - the weekend before would be preferable for next year.

We have considered that in the past, but there are too many clashes with work and social events. :(

We do try to get the call out as early as we can! :)
 
I have gone up the colours to Gold, flights now booked, and I better finalize accommodation and then pay for dinner.

I will start a thread on the Come From Away, as I am planning to see the show on Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
 
Just a reminder that this event is creeping closer, so if you’d like to attend I suggest committing sooner rather than later. I will need to finalise numbers a few days prior.

I had a change of roster a month ago which has thrown all my plans out for the next few months. But I have successfully negotiated this night off.

*phew* That was close.

Just commit. Then drag SWMBO (or HWMBO in my case), screaming and kicking along until one day she/he wakes up and admits one day that “they kinda like the lifestyle”.

Most of my best friends on the planet have come from AFF do’s!

We are a friendly bunch. And we make a mockery of the warning that you should be careful meeting strangers on the internet! :)
 
Don't worry I have had a few blind dates from a wine forum, but I am sure the wine helps. Though it will be the wife's first blind date! I have just transferred the funds.
