Does anyone know of a good medical and repatriation insurance package for Aussies working abroad? I'm struggling to find anything decent at the moment.

If you're working abroad at your employer's behest I would have thought your employer would provide the insurance and/or agree to pay repatriation costs.

If you're working abroad by personal choice or preference, you might find it difficult to find an insurer who would repatriate you to Australia for a medical reason. Repatriation to insurers tends to mean 'to current place of residence' ie to where you are living and working.

Look up evacuation and repatriation insurance for expats. IIIRC Alliance Care does
But medical/health insurance should be separate - eg Bupa international medical insurance.

Maybe the above will do both

Take a look at International SOS (International SOS) as they may have products that suit your requirements. I know that they have been used for quite a while by some Australian based multinationals who operate with Australian staff located overseas.

Many thanks for the replies everyone - will check them out and get something in place.
