Interesting, admin had more input to the article than what Lindsay Wilson did (well, that was what was shown anyway).

But where's the promised picture of LW?! :D

Interesting also quoting LW on saying there will be a leakage to Virgin ... my understanding from his earlier post is that he talked about AA, not Virgin?

She has quoted what I said, but selectively didn't mention the AA part of my comment...probably because it would be confusing to most reading it. She mentioned nothing about the different "earn & burn" ratios I mentioned between QF and AA...probably for the same reason.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Yes, I suspect this is the case. When I try to explain to people why I credit to AA (well, used to prior to the removal of the minimum points guarantee - now I only do it selectively), often they didn't get it - they couldn't understand how you can fly QANTAS (mostly), credit to AA and then redeem mostly through OW Awards (which included QANTAS for the long hauls).

Good to see you written up, though, Lindsay!

The main point about misguided loyalty was there, although not the explanation!

Well, you can't miss the story on Page 16 of the Courier Mail today. Even a photo
The article and the LW photo complete with QFF tag on a bag made it in Sundays Melb Herald Sun. Poser on points Article seems a bit longer in the Melb Hearld Sun
Todd Beavis from Amex said there was a lot of confusion in the marketplace.

"We have negotiated some exceptions with Qantas. If you have a Platinum or Centurion charge card, you can transfer after March 31 and all corporate card members will continue to have the option to transfer, but they have to opt in. We've also negotiated an extension until 2010 for small business cardholders".

Clifford of AFF is often quoted in the media. The web site will get a boost as people read this in the newspapers

Lindsay's smiling mug shot, complete with plat bag tag is displayed prominently on page 22 of the Adelaide Sunday Mail.

Oh no - next I'll be recognised when I travel through airports

Or worse - on your next QF flight some great big hairy cough CSM stands over you with with your meal tray in one hand, a cup of hot coffee in the other, and says "Oh, so you're NOT happy with us then huh?" with an evil glint in his/her eye......

I just had a look in the Sunday Times (Perth) and the article is there, but no snap of LW. It has a picture of the QFF page, along with a table showing the direct earn cards with their annual % and annual fee.

Perhaps someone could upload a copy of the full article with pic(s)?

Lindsay,

I saw you made it into the 'Tiser as well.. Flew back this afternoon and saw it in the paper when I arrived. Nice mug shot of you with your bag tags!! ;)

Saw the article in page 16 of The Courier-Mail (QLD) today.

Not much of a reference to our own LW, but there is his picture at the top, proudly for all to see.

Nice picture, LW; you cut a good picture in that pose :p unless someone is handy with Photoshop

I'm in Brisbane at the moment - I'll have to see if I can track down a copy of the Sunday Mail from the weekend.

Well, I got some interesting comment from family, friends and neighbours about the photo - most cheekily requesting autographs. Some guy even suggested I should have worn a tie.

Interestingly, my own mother missed seeing me in the article - she had seen the headline and started to read it, but as they collect though FlyBuys (I know, still to be converted ), she gave up reading. It wasn't until later in the day, when on the phone to Mrs LW who posed the question "Did you see your son in the paper on Page 16", that mum actually looked at the photo. Devastating

I hope that it has meant increased traffic to AFF.
