Platinum would, otherwise I believe the answer is no.

Ahh I thought I read somewhere on this forum there is a special exception for red-eye flights from Perth but I could be mistaken as it's not published anywhere.

It's pretty hard to find anything on the simpler and fairer qantas website, with the information spread between a thousand places. But the Syd business lounge info is here: Lounge Locations | Australia | Sydney Domestic | Domestic Business

that says business class tickets can access the business lounge before their flight.
platinum can access on the same day as their flight. This is suppose to be some sort replacement of arrivals access. So a special exception for red-eyes would make sense for platinum

I think that came from a much discussed news.com.au article: Qantas Club members told to keep walking when they arrive
Yesterday a Qantas spokesman said the policy on lounge entry for arrivals was not new and was “one that our lounge staff follow”.
“Like many other airlines, Qantas offers eligible customers use of airport lounges before their flight with some members of a higher Qantas Frequent Flyer status (Platinum and Platinum One) able to use the lounge upon arrival,” he said.
“We also offer access to the lounge for Business Class passengers on select overnight flights from Perth to the eastern seaboard.”

(1) The pizza was still being cooked in the lounge and it was pretty good.
(2) I cannot believe they serve the arancini balls onto a napkin in your hand. Whoever thought that was acceptable should be summarily dismissed.
(3) The orange and lavender cake was quite good.
(4) I was asked if I wanted breakfast but not if I wanted the soup. You have to actively request that - and they don't tell you that in advance.
(5) I enjoyed a lengthy shower and slow breakfast in the SYD J lounge on arrival so I could arrive in Sydney at a decent time.
(6) The content in the new inflight entertainment is awful - only 17 movies in "Premiere" - no categories at all (no drama, comedy, arthouse etc). Waste of the big screen.

I'll upload photos when I have time.

Same menu offered on Sunday night. I had the soup. It was OK but had a strange texture. Wasn't offered the cake at all (I forgot about it but that's not the point). Breakfast was ordinary to say the least. Ricotta & Spinach muffin thingy was way too salty. It wasn't a big deal as I had brekky over in T1.

I agree with assessment of entertainment. Not worth the bother to watch on the red eye anyway.

In seat, or Q-streaming.

I've exhausted Q-streaming so much that I even resorted to watching a french movie the other week!

It's was a nothing movie - Grandma has a new boyfriend, the 3 daughters visit for the weekend, granddaughter has been staying for a while. They discover granddaughter (14) is having relations with one of the local boys. the youngest daughter likes to name bits of female anatomy, eddie murphy is right to say everything sounds good in french. Mother of granddaughter is attracted to father of local boy. Grandma knew about granddaughters activities.

Seatback IFE - in the new J suites. Refurbed A332.

One more thing - if you use the lounge on arrival, ask the desk to phone baggage services and tell them you won't be collecting your bag for a while.
Apparently failing to collect it immediately is now regarded as a security breach.
I arrived just in time to prevent my bag being exploded by a robot.
