A British Airways Dreamliner has issued a mayday call over central NSW and returned to Sydney.
The flight bound for Singapore was in the air a little under an hour on Monday afternoon, and firefighters were reportedly waiting for the plane back on the Sydney tarmac.

However, the plane made it back to the gate safely.

The flight left Sydney 24 minutes late, at 3.04pm on Monday.

Flight data shows that, about 200km out over central NSW, the plane was forced to turn around, and landed back in Sydney at 3.56pm.

Aircraft is G-ZBKL - A 9 year old B787-9
