Maximising parental status hold length

I've been doing some calculations, but wanted to check if what I've arrived at is correct. Please see below.

Mrs AisleSeat should scrape into Silver this year before our baby arrives in September, and I've been working out how to maximise status hold for her.

Some stats:

SC reset date: March 2018
Baby due: September 2017
Deadline to apply for status hold: 6 months after baby is born
September-March: 6 months
Status hold length: 18 months

So, to maximise status hold, I'm thinking to wait until March 2018 to apply, thereby extending Silver status until September 2019.

Are my calculations correct? Have I missed anything?

I think your calculations are correct.

But , perhaps you should have 'planned' it better. Waited 6 months then you could maximise totally!

Bumping an older thread here, but seeking some clarification.

In the above described scenario, does MrsAisleSeats new QF "year" become Sept-Sept?

Mine is currently Jan-Jan so just want to clarify that if I apply the status hold in (say) April, my new QF "year" going forward would be Oct-Oct?
