Note that for non attendance or can't attend that status was bronze,

Copper was coined by @penegal because he couldn't make up his mind, usually because he was already double booked but wanted to be with his friends. and couldn't commit.

In 2014 I was organising an AFF event. Mark (@penegal) had started to get a reputation for being very unsure about whether he could make social occasions.

So I took the initiative to create a new classification, just for him - 'Copper - I won't know until the last minute as work may get in the way or I may have to fly to SIN or somewhere else for one reason or another or I just can't make up my mind'

This was in addition to the usual Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

The mod team met yesterday and decided that we would no longer use 'copper' as a designation, as it was specifically created for Mark.

As @Cruiser Elite has said above, this is out of respect for Mark and the indelible impression he has left on AFF.

Note that this is not a moderator direction, but we would encourage others to follow suit.

I'll bring some wine that Mark shared with me ... Hill of Grace ... but because it just might be past its best, also a Mt Edelstone.

I once asked Mark to an invitation-only vertical tasting of HoGs and other good stuff at Henschke winery, with 'Pru and Stephen'. We kicked on, but I don't remember much about that!

Well to be perfectly honest most likely the 20th will also take place - but that will be informal and it will be confirmed on the 14th

Would love to go, but it's going to be really hard on Friday (impossible on Thursday) due to being a school day, then having to fly down to Melbourne to make the dinner on time (even if, and I wish, it starts fairly late).

So put me as Silver for now. I've gotta work this out, subject to the dinner start time.

Thu 20 Aug was always going to be impossible, but now I've double checked calendars and I have a robotics competition to help run on 14 Aug - 16 Aug. No chance I can fly out the afternoon then fly back in the morning - I already missed the last major function; I can't miss this one, not to mention I'm heavily involved in the organisation.
