Honestly I don't love any of the Melbourne independent lounges so I choose based on what I want out of them. Mahabra's strength is the view and I actually quite likes the food. It's also not bad for people who want to free pour themselves. Centurion is okay and nice that is has a staffed bar but once you go to Centurion lounges overseas it is shocking how bad it looks in comparison.

Oh yes well we are going to centurion before our flight. So good to know they serve drinks early , unlike qantas doesn’t door alcohol before 12pm..

The Melbourne QANTAS International Business class 100% serves alcohol before noon. In so far as the alcohol is on the counter for anybody to use. I may or may not have gone through their on a bucks trip and we definitely had a couple of early morning whiskeys.
