vt01, I soooooo relate to your post (twice in fact). I was only able to reduce the time on the first birth to 3 months because I flew Mrs LW and mini-LW #1 with me (ozfest). The second one was reduced to similar timing, because she understands how much I need to see clients who pay our income.....

I'm about to do a 3 night trip to PER and ADL, so this will be the longest I have been away from them all....thank god for mobiles.

Welcome back and congratulations to you and mrs vt01.

Thanks Flashware.

hahaha. It wasn't so bad with number 1. I took 5 weeks off and stayed at home. Then it took a while to organise any trips so it was pretty easy. Number 2 was much the same but I took 3 weeks off and worked from home for a few weeks.. Again, not much travelling afterwards for a few months.
Number 3 has been different. Number 1 at school using kiss and drop (cool), number 2 at pre-school but needs to be walked in. That means baby in and out of car. So a bit more difficult. Still, no more 6 weeks away.. limiting my trips to 1 maybe 2 weeks maximum. This ones a 2 weeker.

Wow - 3 day maximum! that's great.. I wish I could keep my trips that short. Webcams help a bit.

Anyhow, thanks for the congrats and welcome back!

My first trip back and my first flight on an A380!:D:D:D Even if it is in Y...

Yes, my wife can relate to that, dropping #1 to Daycare with #2 only 18 weeks old.

Wish I could get my trips to be that long...but as they are all domestic trips for me, and all with individual clients. Have enough clients who want to see me to get 2 full days in PER, only 1 in ADL. Enough clients in MEL and SYD to have trips either 2 days & 2 nghts, 2 days 7 1 night, or day-trips (harder with daylight saving).

Webcams help a bit.
Anyone who knows me will be :D - I did used to use Skype, but change computers and haven't put it back on. Technology is not my strong point .

Can I live vicariously through you. My chance won't come until mid-2011.

You're going for another baby?
No, that's when I have the opportunity to travel over to Europe for 6 weeks with the clan, so may choose an A380 for either outbound or inbound. Will be using up a lot of my AA points for 3x J returns and paying 10% for mini#2 (who will be 18 months old). Taking my long service leave from my previous company (was transferred to our new company). There will be a big planning thread starting next month.

After we return, well let's just see if Mrs LW has the travel bug back...here's hoping

Oh nice! That sounds like so much more fun than my trip to AKL and beyond. I went to Europe just recently with D2, had a great time! Very jealous. Would love to go back again and see more.

Well, my last 3 years of overseas travel have been AKL and NAN. Just wait until you have kids.
