Malaysia Airlines Lounges at KUL

Soon to transit KUL for the first time on MH, I'll be in Y as a QF WP.

First time through, have an overnight stay, so have booked the airside hotel which i believe is at satellite terminal, before an 8am departure. Will hope for a good breakfast and coffee (with oat milk?) in the lounge before the flight.

Second time through, have a bit of an ungodly 4am arrival and 9am departure, so will hope for a shower and somewhere to rest for a while before breakfast.

Also would love advice for mrs excel who will be travelling separately in one direction and has a 10-2am stopover, but no status, unsure whether a paid lounge or a hotel/capsule is the best way to go.

All flights are 737s, so not sure which gates they'll use. Any advice from the brains trust greatly appreciated!
To answer some of these questions for anyone looking in the future, plus a few other titbits I noticed
  • 737 flight ex per and to mnl arrived and departed from the main/regional terminal so I had to take the airtrain to satellite (I had to do a double take, I am used to a satellite terminal being for small regional planes... Anyway).
  • Airtrain comes very frequently and takes a few mins, allow 5 mins walk to it from the golden lounge at the satellite terminal. The stairs/escalators are not in a logical place, they're kind of tucked away to get to the mezzanine level where the lounge is
  • I had seen some warnings that they would only allow you in 3 hours prior to flight, but the First lounge in the satellite terminal was happy to let me in as a platinum connecting passenger after seeing both boarding passes.
  • Stopped in for a steak for dinner (medium rare was actually medium rare which was nice) and then it was a 5-10 min walk to the Sama Sama express airport hotel right at the end of one of the gate wings
  • Sama Sama express (airside at satellite terminal) was pricey but worth it, imo, for seven hours in the room - vs the pod hotel which is about $30/hour, plus you have your own bathroom and they even had contour pillows on request.
  • In the morning, oat milk was available for my cappuccino, as I hoped! But you need to ask the staff for this as it cannot be specified in the tablet
  • Breakfast (as was dinner) is ordered through the tablet which allows you to customise which was good - removed salad, added a hash brown!
  • In the F part there are nap rooms seperated into male/female areas with blankets available on request.
  • Showers seemed cleaner than the qf dom J lounge in Syd! Towels and toiletries are on request as you enter
  • Was also able to grab a few bottles of water at the lounge which was helpful to get me through the night
The lounge attendants were extremely friendly, especially compared to the crew ex PER. It was the sort of experience that makes me sad that I'll be dropping back to SG and have to go to the J side in the future!
