Making bludgers pay to use the QP...

Should the QP have a pay as you go option similar to DJ or JQ?

I was thinking it .... but wasn't going to say it, I can be a bit of a spelling/grammar naz_ at times

Im not surprised at the result of the poll so far, but only 80 votes in total surprises me..

Mr!

As I posted:
No need for me to vote as an option indicating my thoughts is not available.
  • Paid access on days of QF/JQ flight (and perhaps oneworld)

Wouldn't the middle option meet that requirement, except for WPs.

Paid if with a QP member, and most QP members can only enter if flying.

No!

I mean flying solo QF/JQ and no other access - pay to enter.

FWIW, that was actually what I meant with the last option...

  • Yes, anytime they want!
I did not read it that way. It took it to mean that one simply needs to rock up to the QP, pay your dues and go for it - you did not have to be flying QF or JQ or TT or DJ or at all in the context of anytime.

FWIW, AA charge USD50 for such a pass (day pass - can be used at any A/C on the day - and you still have to purchase "coughtails")

Do you know if this is per person/per adult? We've got two long waits in LAX and SFO on the way to SEA and I was wondering if it was worth it for a family for four. I'm guessing it'll cost us $US100 if we are allowed in at all. We are flying SYD-LAX with QF and then on to SEA via SFO with Virgin America. Virgin don't have clubs we can use in those airports so I was looking at other options.

AA Guest pass - one-day access systemwide: $50 for the first guest, $25 each subsequent guest (up to 3 total).

I think you will hit a snag anyway of needing a boarding pass to access LAX T4 AA Admirals Club and SFO T3 AA Admirals Club.

Lounge Guide LAX Admirals Club
Lounge Guide SFO Admirals Club

There is a pay as you go lounge landside at TBIT if you are interested

Lounge Guide LAX Independent ReLAX Lounge

and another lounge landside at SFO International Terminal A

Loung Guide SFO Virgin Atlantic Airlways the Clubhouse

I don't know how far the terminals are from your departing terminal but certainly worth some thought if you are prepared to spend the money....

It's per person (it was $75 for two until sometime in the past year).

In any case the point is moot in LAX as you won't have access to T4 and the A/C. Same for SFO and concourse E's A/C.
