Made Platinum today

Congrats!

I too made Platinum this week, on Sunday. Have to say I didn’t feel any different on checking my account, but [-]think[/-] hope the first flight as a Platinum will feel good.

How many times a day have you started checking your mailbox, waiting for your Platinum Pack to arrive? We've all done it.

I’m checking mine every day, but assume it wont arrive until next week.

The F lounge is amazing but most of my travel is domestic. Lately I've really loved the much improved priority boarding. It is so nice to stroll past the 100m line and actually have some cabin baggage space when you board!

Today's flight rolled me over to WP and when I saw it in my account I made an audible "yay" sound!

How embarrasing! You guys have ruined me! For the rest of my life I forsee status maintenance and elite flying on my horizon

Once had that ownership dream Spruce! Have loved commercial aviation since I did my first solo crossing of the Irish Sea on BA at age 5. God, now that I think of it, in an album somewhere is my first TAA ticket PER/SYD /PER which was my first trans AUS solo aged 10.

I also have fond memories of the QF "I own an airline" campaign, and even proudly wore the badge. Aaahhh those were the days......now to keep up with experts on this forum who daily stun me with their cleverness in extracting max benefit from their use of the program. Who needs to be a shareholder!?!

Yeh well done jacfin it is an achievement and somehing that you will want to keep. After a few years, I think the biggest benefit is when things go wrong en route: never once been le down since WP! Enjoy the Champagne!

Enjoy, I doubt I'll ever reach that status. Will get silver next month on the back of some business trips and might get Gold this year but that will be it.

About 8 years ago I though the same. Then I hit gold, and still thought platinum would never happen. I'm now platinum with both QF and VA (via flying, not status match). You just never know what might happen!

Ashleyn, just as pshepvic said, I was bronze for ages, silver for years, then achieved gold and things started to get interesting. Plat has been a surprise given my situation, and I hope with the help of AFF rs to get max benefit, including maintenance.

Promised you I'd be there in a month. Q website still shows 60 SC's to go but having just done QF1800 & QF1837 (Full Y) I'm just waiting for it to tick over. Looking forward to the Salt and Pepper squid in July (if they still have it).

Showed Mrs 11sjw an article on the SYD F Lounge and she now understands why I have completed that same run about 15 times in the last 4-5 months (plus some PER-TSV thrown in) and is very much looking forward to trying it out.
