Last Thursday I flew to CBR for an overnight work trip (not a DSC trip!).

I drove to the Value car park, at $24 it's cheaper and (usually) quicker than any other mode. I parked and took a photo of my bay. Walked to the nearest bus shelter and went to the QFd terminal.

Got to CBR, went to the office and then the hotel. On Friday did the training course and back to the airport. Advised that my flight QF1285 was delayed by an hour. We eventually boarded and the weather was foul. Took off and it was rough. Seat belt sign was on most of the way and no meal service.

No problems, landed safely, got my luggage and onto the Value car park bus. Got off at G shelter (where I'd boarded) and walked to the bay. I couldn't find H15. Eventually I looked at the photo and realised I was parked in H5. 😬🤬 It still took me another 20 minutes to find the correct bay.

I actually spent an hour walking around the car park! I really can get lost between my front door and the footpath.

At least I got my exercise for the day.

Something similar many years ago went to Crown Casino for first time and parked in underground carpark. Usually my bearings pretty good. Came back a few hours later to the spot where I was convinced I parked. Yes correct row. Yes correct number of car slots down the row. It's not there. Am I going mad? Spoke to security officer and he said "are you on the correct level". Didn't realise there were two levels of parking.💩

Can beat that  . Visiting my sister in Brisbane and took her in a hire car to Indooroopilly Shopping centre to shop. Its a v. big car parking area, 3-4 levels. I parked in a very recognisable spot, and took note of the level/colour.

Came back an hour later and its not there. Certain of the spot and level. I'm going nuts, I thought. So I started walking up and down the ramps, looking at every permutation of recognisable spot and level, clicking the key fob to get lights flash. Started panicking - thought it had been nicked.

Did one last pass - and it was there, exactly where it should be.

I realised I was ?subconsciously looking for my own car, not the hire one, of different colour. 🤬

In 2013 at KL airport arrivals (international) was pickpocketed, silly me, had left both my AUS & NZ passports together in travel wallet together in back onm trolley bag. I think that it was yanked out when I stopped by a hotel booking counter. I discovered the loss at the KLIA check in at KLIAS 1. Went to Police and got a report, took ages. It was Australia Day 26 Jan and I expected the High Commission to be closed but it was open, they sent me to get a new photo. I went back and they told me that an emergency passort would take up to a week. I showed them a letter from my cardiologist that I had an appointment on the Friday However, I got a call in the afternmoon and went straight back and they issued it. Wow on Australia day. I also lost NZ$400 in cash. I went to the NZ High Commission but they said a replacement was all too hard. So stupid not separating them as I could have entered AUS on my NZ Passport avaoiding the short wait and the $250 cost of a emergency passport. I had a good travel policy with insure N Go, they were wonderful.

Once arrived at SYD INT to find I had lost my UK passport. (did the Aussie haka). That was before I had an NZ passport. Called the British high commission-no joy. Phoned around to likely places it may have been dropped- no luck. Phoned British High Com again-yes it has been found and is at Strathfield Station. They had it all along but the phone number they had for me was in new Zealand so didn't call. Off course by this time the flight had left so I spent the night in Sydney after a round trip to Strathfield station.
