It will be interesting to see if MAC have a record of you being told that the fee would be waived. I called and asked for the fee to be waived and the best I could do was get a bonus 2,000 points.

Took a while to get a resolution, but yes, they did have a record it appears, as they have processed the waiver (and it will be on next month's statement).

BTW do you know if it makes any difference that Woolworths are offering this as a Visa whereas most of the discussions here and elsewhere are regarding their MasterCard?
I've no idea sorry. I've had the card since it was first introduced. The T&Cs are from Macquarie not Visa so I don't think it should make a difference.

First of all, the new website looks terific and the black cards look nice with the shift to Visa.

I was so sick of the old pathetic WOW Money website that I had forgotten all of my login details. So called the call centre and had a lovely chat who fixed it all for me. Bizarrely the mobile number they had on file didn't match what I told them - it was some random number I've never heard of before. Wonder how that possibly could have happened.

Apparently they can't process additional cardholder applications until February, so my attempt to chase up a supplementary application I sent a while ago was unsuccessful. However, I was able to get a promise to email me with the link in February when they are ready to go, and 10k QFF for the inconvenience. I'm pretty happy with that!

My statement that came this week was well laid out and easy to follow. If I pay the minimum payment I will be debt free well before my 120th birthday.
i am staying with this card.

I closed the card 3 weeks ago and now I get an electronic statement that I can't access ?? What's the point of that ?

Sorry, I can see how that could be confusing. I was replying to the "but does it happen in practice" in relation to whether Macquarie Bank interpret the "Government Fees and Charges" statement as including ATO payments.
I said no, Jetstar Mastercard (issued by Macquarie) does not interpret the statement that way, and DOES pay points on ATO payments.

Just to update - Jetstar card no long posts points for ATO.

Found out the hard way today :(

Similar story here..closed mine 6 weeks ago and when I rang them they promised me a paper statement by mail...still waiting and have no idea if I owe any money..Will be most annoyed if I do and it affects my credit rating..

Pretty sure I don't so I'm just ignoring it.

I see that for new cards, the earning ratio has dropped to 1Pt:$1 for the first $2.5k and then only 0.5Pt:$1 after that (per month). I wonder how long it will take for our existing accounts to be 'enhanced' in the same way.

Edit: My post may not be accurate. Qantas credit card selector states the capping but woolworths site does not. It may be an error or that there is a change in the wind.

Woolworths site still shows no capping as does another part of the Qantas site. May just be an error on one part of the Qantas site. Let's hope so.

It's true, there is a cap now. When I noticed this I called Woolworth's and they confirmed it they just haven't updated their website as yet. Not happy since I only just got this card and spend well over $2,500 per month. Luckily my full points earning on by CBA Platinum Amex is back to full points earning again thanks to a new year. I'll just use my WW card for times I can't use my Amex

Thanks for the update. Don't suppose you know if cap is only for new accounts or old ones as well?

No 100% sure on that, it applies to me but I've only had the card a couple of weeks. Wouldn't hurt to call and check, so much for the capping remaining unchanged like I read in a few articles.

I will be retiring this card as soon as a points cap is notified to me. Since I've also paid the annual card fee a month ago I will require a pro-rata refund of that.

Only interested in a reasonable value uncapped 1 pp $ MC/Visa. I can live without points on ATO or BPay, time to shop around.
