Hello. I am after some advice. I have four flights booked from Melb to Dublin, all on one ticket. Using Qantas and BA. Two overnight breaks. Will it be possible to book airside accommodation at Bengalura and have my luggage booked through from Sydney? Therefore not clearing immigration and not needing a visa? Or do l need to collect my luggage and stay roadside? My preference would be to have the luggage booked all the way through. Thanks for your input.

Yes you should be able to check the luggage to DUB as the "breaks" or layovers are less than 23hr59min
Except at SYD - I think this is considered to be an overnight stopover.

There are landside hotels at SYD. The closest one to the T1 (international) is Rydges - pricey though.
Unfortunately the free inter-terminal TBus stops operating at 2130hrs.
You will need to catch the train/taxi/uber (tap on and tap off with your CC to pay the fare) from Domestic to International Terminal

You can stay airside in BLR which has a transit hotel.

Overnight bag connections are the exception - I would expect to reclaim your bag at both stops.

The <24 hour rule only applies to the major 24/7 airports, membership of which is very exclusive.

Thankyou for your responses. Looks like we assume we need a visa to stay at the transit hotel .We won't know about the bags until checkin so will be prepared with hand luggage just in case.

Slightly off topic but related to baggage collection.
We fly CX to HK with 6 hour stopover to connect on KLM to AMS, then KLM to LIS, all on the one PNR.
I have been informed we need to collect bags at HK, then recheck. Correct?

When we land in AMS, do we need to collect bags again or will be checked through?
Any information much appreciated, as have had different responses from KLM and CX. Thank you.
