If inbound on a flight to Sydney T1 and travelling onward on a DJ flight from Sydney T2, does Virgin Blue have a check-in desk where luggage can be dropped at Sydney T1?*

*(To avoid having to carry it over to T2).

I have dome some research and it appears there is a facility:

Terminal Transfer
Virgin Blue Seamless Transfer

If you are transferring between Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue or one of Virgins interline or codeshare partner airlines - or vice versa - you may be eligible to use their Seamless Transfer Service. For further information and to confirm your eligibility, please refer to Virgin Blue Home or phone 13 67 89.
However, maybe the flights need to be on the one PNR (not separate tickets):

V Australia > Virgin Blue Connections

Arriving off V Australia into Sydney with a domestic connection onto Virgin Blue:

Guests are required to collect their bags off the carousel and then clear Customs and Quarantine. Guests should then head to the Seamless Transfer Lounge, which is a left turn, immediately after clearing Quarantine and before entering the arrivals hall. If booked on a formal Codeshare Flight (one ticket for the entire journey) then guests can head to the check-in counters, where they can check in for their domestic flight. Guests will also receive a bus pass to get over to the domestic terminal. If not travelling on a single ticket journey, this transfer service option is available by paying $15 at the check-in counter. ...

*This service is available for all guests who have booked a formal connecting journey. If you have purchased two separate tickets, you will be required to pick up your baggage at the transfer port.

If you do a search from about the time VAustralia started flying, istr there did seem to be issues with this service (mainly csr's not knowing how to do it, delays, long queues etc), hopefully all sorted by now.

Based on my single recent experience this all seems to be operating smoothly

It worked perfectly for me coming in from LAX last November, picked up bag, cleared customs followed signs to domestic transfer counter, dropped off bag, jumped on bus over to domestic terminal.....very easy indeed.

Had time to have a nice refreshing shower in the Velocity Lounge before flying home to Brisbane.

Cheers
Dave.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge of this service when inbound on Delta (premium) transferring to DJ?

Luggage would be interlined.
