AKL-MEL is just in zone 3 so poor use, especially when the cheapest econ fares arent eligible (and there is quite a jump to eligible fares).
:)

Of course I only mentioned that one as it was my main source of expenditure for my remaining UC's last year.

(...actually QF25 MEL-AKL has nice comfortable PM timings later this year and you'd get a shybed as well!)

ahh but you got in before the changes and could use them on cheapo fares

I cant which changes value equation significantly.

I actually used 4 UCs on AKL-MEL-AKL a little while ago. Both flights were 767s.

It was OK, given the business cabin was about 1/3 full each time. It's better than letting go to waste, I guess. Also, from WLG, there's nothing but coughpy 733s, so 767s were a great improvement.

I've 1 UC left - any ideas?

With 1 UC there is no choice but to use it for a domestic australia flight <1200 miles (and not economy only flight).

Just as I thought. Probably going to become another one being forfeited :!:

SFO-YVR would also be possible (QF metal, under 1200 miles and more than 1 class of service).

Edited to add

BNE-NOU (didnt realise this has business class) but not SYD-NOU (more than 1200 miles).
DRW-DPS

I think thats all now.

I've got 7 days to use my next one. Can't see that happening.

At times like this, 5000 points is more valuable.

Kiwi Flyer,

Thanks heaps however I can't see a trip to any of these destinations prior to May. :x :( :x :(

Loyalty bonus...it is really almost an affront to frequent flyers. 450 SC's is significant when one is talking about discount economy flying and an afterthought for those that fly regularly in J and F.

QF dropped the ball when they killed Upgrade Credits and took it from 250 SC's to 450 to receive a measely 5K points. Whilst I think they realise the error of their ways (from the more savvy travellers like us who have told them), I think they aren't about to turn around and reinstate the previous method.

Lets hope they address this problem next time they see fit to "enhance" the program.

Agreed, although their "enhancements" only ever seem to be an enhancement to them, not us. :(
