Loyalty bonus question

I reached 1000 status credits bonus in July 2019, then my membership year ended in August 2019. I haven't yet claimed the bonus. If I claim the 50 status credits in September 2019 will it apply to this membership year or the previous?

How quickly is the loyalty bonus triggered upon reaching 500 SC?

Based on current balance and forward bookings, I will go from 470 to 550 SC with a SYD-NAN flight (QF flight number, FJ metal) on April 27. Ideally I would use the loyalty bonus to retain SG before my April 30 anniversary date. If SCs are late posting from QF/FJ, or the loyalty bonus takes a few days to register, I will be stranded.

Should I just plan for a status run to play it safe?

Normally immediately once the flight is credited. Note you have to log in and select the benefit you want (SCs or points).

Just in case you're not aware, the bonus applies to every 500 SCs earned "on eligible Qantas or Jetstar flights", not your overall SC total. It also excludes bonus SCs earned through double status credit promotions etc. In some cases your overall total will be the same as your loyalty bonus tally, but not always, so just thought that was worth clarifying before you make any decisions.

Hi, do you know if "eligible Qantas or Jetstar flights" includes QF flight number on EK metal? With current flight bookings I'll reach gold this year but only with my SC loyalty bonus. A large chunk of my SC's will be coming from a codeshare J flight to the UK on EK metal so won't reach the 500 SC threshold if not so will need to do a status run to make up the difference.

Yes QF codeshare on EK counts:

flights with a Qantas (QF) flight number (including partner airline flights with a Qantas (QF) flight number)

If you haven't yet ...apply for the latest DSC offer, not sure if you have already booked your SYD-NAN flight though, but might be useful for another flight booked before the 25th Feb.
