Lowest QFF Account Numbers

ISTR that in the early days, points had only between 13 and 24 months before they would expire and members had to really fly a lot to get any value. (i.e. Points earned in any one "year" had to be redeemed before the end of the next "year".)

In early '94(?) both AN and QF changed their programs so that points has a longer life.

This made membership far more worthwhile and greatly accelerated the take up rates.

I guess that makes two of us, or three if you count cosi's Dad!

Yeah, i'm real sorry about that situation. But as you're both recorded as 8 and there is a 3 year difference, the best fit line wanted to go negative. if one was an 81xx and the other an 89xx it might work better. But I don't dare ask for that level of detail.

I'm hoping that Cosi's dad might change the situation. But haven't checked yet, sorry. we have an audit next week and seems the boss wanted something done, besides pretty graphs

My 78 year old dads number is three digits starting with 1XX and he is still flying!
Now that is what I would classify as the winner...immediate family of an AFF'er should count

Mine is 00556XX (joined Feb 89) - so shows the slow growth back then. From what I recall of the earlier threads, Ikara was the winner and my uncle is 00053XX (but I don't know when he joined). Nice early number ozbeachbabe, you are only a couple of thousand ahead of me

True between yours (Feb 89) and mine (Apr 92), but looking at:

If Dave R32 have not made a typo mistake, that's a big jump in 2 months!

I think you've cut and pasted someone else's quote by accident as my number's 0008xx_ with date of
joining 11 Sep 1986.

Yes, don't know what post I incorrectly copied that from, ozbeachbabe :confused::oops:. From my recollections, then the order here is:

First: cosi's Dad, three digits starting with 1XX, date??

Second: Lindsay's uncle, 0053xx, date ??

Third: Ikara, 0008xx_, January 1983

Fourth: ozbeachbabe, 0008xx_, September 1986

Fifth: Lindsay, 0056xx_, February 1989

Well finally here is the graph, including all numbers.

Nice work medhead. I can see exactly where/when I fit into the scheme of things.

With nearly 7 million members,no wonder they needed new software when the old one was only designed for 20,000. Funny though, you'd probably find that 6,980,000 are NBs like me and that there's really only still 20,000 frequent flyers.

9 years later with a join date of OCT 95 I am 095xx_x
Exactly the same for me - thought it was always funny the first two digits were my joining year. That's how I remember it - the next two digits are similar and I have to remember the right order.

The tin lids' numbers are 7, 19X,X53 and 64 - issued Sept 09.

I know a guy quite well who always proudly says his QFF number is 12XX. Not sure when he joined.

9/11

Which is pretty impressive as a low number!

Never mind the mship number, what about the date of joining - 11 September 1986. That's a bit spooky. Who would've known the significance that date would play in aviation exactly 15 years later?

Good luck entering the LOTFAP if that info is shared, they will see a direct link and shutdown for sure.

I found my Australian Airlines Flight Deck card t'other day; member number 0024xx_.

My current QFF Qantas Pub no is 37xx_XX. There was a significant interval before I had a job again which required lots of flying.

Those were the days when we had proper food in the planes with metal cutlery.

australian Airlines Flight Deck was a company registered 10 October 1989 and my Card was valid from October 1989. I remember it was a corporate card through the old Department of Housing and Construction in Canberra where I worked - and had to fly around the country to inspect works projects. nostalgia; we have it sometimes?

Is that a Qantas number then, so you’d be able to reactivate the old account and use the old number? That’d be pretty cool.
