Hi all.

I'm sorry to post a boring thread, but i am getting conflicting information.
I'm traveling to LAX return, twice in the next 6 months in J.
Currently at Platinum Status and was wondering what lounges there are and what I am entitled to use. I have not flown to LAX since I was Silver 4 years ago. :)

Thanks to all

Are they trans-pac flights with Qantas? Leaving from Tom Bradley Internaironal or Terminal 4?
In Tom Bradley terminal (all flights to SYD and I think MEL flights?), you will get access to the Qantas/One World International First lounge due to your platinum status. If you are on a flight to BNE from T4, you will get access to the AA Flagship lounge.

Hi Katie,

Yep, Trans Pac with Qantas from MEL. I thought this was the case, but I couldn't confirm anywhere on the website. Thanks heaps

okay, I will hijack this thread, if I may, as my situation is similar.

I am WP and I fly QF011 SYD to LAX landing at approx 10am in TBIT, my onward flight is from T6 on QF3777 (Alaskan Airlines operated) to YVR.

As far as I can see I have no lounge access in T6 so can I access the lounges in TBIT even though my flight departs from T6, I think I can but would like some confirmation.

Assuming I can, I assume the AA Flagship Lounge would be the correct choice?

I also assume my luggage will be checked to YVR but I think the LAX-YVR leg is almost classed as domestic. Will I need to collect and recheck my luggage? Does this happen at TBIT or T6. Will I need to clear customs/security to get to T6 from TBIT and will I need to take my luggage through?

How long would I need to get from TBIT to T6?

Thanks

Your bags will be tagged to YVR, but you'll collect them in LAX after you pass through customs, then proceed to the baggage drop area on your way out on the terminal. Your options are then to walk to T6 or take a shuttle but note you're no longer airside. It's a decent walk, prob 15-20min depending on how quick you normally walk. This is the biggest downside from the change to T6 from T4 by Alaskan for us Aussies connecting.

Once you get through security at T6 you will have access to the Alaskan Boardroom Lounge. Take the lift near the rotunda. As you're flying on a QF code and as a WP you'll have access ( in fact Mrs B once got in as a PS)

Do you have any links saying that you get access to the Alaskan Boardroom Lounge? I'm doing the TBIT-T6 change as well but only as a SG. I'm looking for info on lounge access and guesting rules but can't find anything...

I have seen anecdotes where AS boardroom access is granted to WP's on QF flight numbers in LAX.

I don't have a link but having just moved home after living in Vancouver and doing the Aus-LAX-YVR run many times I've never been refused entry to the Boardroom. I appreciate its anecdotal but that's just my experience. I got in as both SG and WP and as I stated earlier Mrs B got in as a PS on her first trip to YVR and then many times as a SG. The first time she was told by the lounge staff that she had access as she was OWR. Again I understand this is anecdotal and not set in stone.

I do know for a fact that they have a folder at their desk with a copy of all the QFF cards so they must be keeping them to refer to for a reason.

Alternatively you could try to go through T4 security after TBIT and wait in the Flagship Lounge then take the airside shuttle bus from T4 to T6 but I wouldn't advise this as you're likely to miss your flight for the sake of a little lounge time.

Either way if you don't get in there's always Ruby's for a burger or the Sports Bar for a quick drink and a bite if needed in T6.

thanks bosox76 and serfty,

I emailed AS and asked them, their reply was;

> If you are a Qantas Club member then you would have complimentary access to the
> Board Room. If not then you can purchase day passes for $45/person on your day
> of travel in the LAX Board Room.
>
> Please let me know if you have further questions.
>
> Best regards,

> Carolyn Swanson
> Board Room Coordinator

I have emailed back explaining I am not a QANTAS Club member directly, but as a WP I do have access to the QP, but it sounds positive :)

Thanks again

Do you know what the guesting conditions are? And does anyone know if an AA 30 day membership will get access to the T6 lounge?

Hi there

I will fly Y from LAX (Tom Bradley) to SYD next January 19th on QF 108 - I have a 5 hours layover in LAX as I will be flying in on UA from MTJ in the afternoon.
I'm gold with CX (therefore able to get into the QF lounge at Tom Bradley) and I also have a Priority Pass (giving me access to the SKYTEAM KAL BUSINESS CLASS LOUNGE at Tom Bradley).

I understand the QF lounge is still the "old" one and the new OW lounge won't open until April 2014... so which one should I choose for a long layover, the QF lounge or the SKYTEAM one?

I really doubt that they will understand what a 'WP' or a 'QP' is  But they do know what a Qantas Platinum Frequent Flyer is. Yes you do also get in as Gold frequent flyers as do Qantas club members.
